BBUK 2024: Returns Oct. 6th
- Thread starter Kingston
- Start date
As expected but a shame as a couple of extra weeks would have made all the difference and would have preferred it a month earlier. I don't think running it straight into I'm a Celebrity does either shows and favours.
Not sure when it ends but wouldn't be surprised if any new eye debuts during the Love Island final.

IDK why they need such a large gap between Love Island and BB. If it’s absolutely necessary to bump BB from it’s traditional early summer home you’d think they’d at least be able to shuffle things around so that at very least could air at the end of August or early September.

I didn’t mind last years eye but this is just terrible

What does dripping paint have to do with BB? IDK it all seems rather uninspired and for a revival that they had initially pitched as going back to its social experiment roots I would think simplicity would be key. IMO the pre-series branding seemed more in line with a back to basic series.I don’t mind the concept and I love the paint drips as a theme, but I don’t like the still image of it - the best bit is the itv2 logo in the colours.

Okay I've had time to reflect. I stand by the fact that I like the paint swooshing and slowly building into the logo as the music builds, but the branding is lousy. As an image, it looks wonky and really weak.
The one thing I thought they would have kept was the middle of the eye, because, as Brekkie says, the secondary logo was just as much a part of the marketing for the show last year, and I thought it worked pretty well. Now I'm not saying that the logo I whipped up in 10 minutes is by any means good, but they could have built on the identity that they created last year whilst still going for something different.

Wahoo!
I'm glad they removed that. After someone pointed it out here, I couldn't unsee that the centre looked exactly like the CBS logo (the network that airs Big Brother in the USA).The one thing I thought they would have kept was the middle of the eye
ITV have released the advert for the upcoming series. I like it - it's cute and it has more to do with Big Brother's original concept than the adverts from last series.
A throwback to a feature back in BB1, when eviction shows actually had some thought put into them.

Yeah I thought about this too, but did they also do something similar in BB6? I remember they had the black haired one for Darren but thought they did one (or maybe it was an animation or something on BBLB) for Science etc.A throwback to a feature back in BB1, when eviction shows actually had some thought put into them.
Interested to see the new house layout!

Maybe, that seems familiar maybe they played something like that on one of the BBLB eps, haha. For BB6 they had these animated adverts on E4 where all the housemates were different animals - is this what you are thinking of?

I'm most surprised by the fact that they're not upping on the hours of the live feed. Back when Channel 5 took over, it became somewhat of an international trend amongst broadcasters to cut the live feed. But now it's a trend to have feeds again, even the countries that either cut or limited feeds brought them back in recent times. Now that everyone has to compete with Netflix, having the feeds on a streaming service is a no-brainer.
I think the only version in 2024 that had even less hours of live feeds were the Canadian versions and we all know how that ended for at least the English one. The French Secret Story had at least 4 hours of live feed every day. Every other version has either a 24h stream or at least an 16 - 20h stream with breaks for the very late/very early morning hours.
