Since
@Sephrenia asked so nicely I'm back...
Imogen Spendlove - Finally
Sound mixing is definitely off. Much better song for her than last week but her performance is lacking a bit. It's just not matching the energy of the song, at one point she awkwardly stops (very out of breath BTW) to throw some confetti which very much highlighted how awkward and disjointed everything was. Not off to a great start.
Issac McCallum - Wake Me Up
Where did they find this guy? Same criticism as last week... He has zero stage presence. First half of the song was decent but he ended the song on the verge of screaming. Not worthy of the stage. GTFO.
Drea Onamade - Lil Boo Thang
Very odd song choice. Once again sticking to what I said last week... She'd probably have gotten a better performance on The X Factor. Is the show picking the songs for them or is this blunder all on her?
Dylan Wright - I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)
Props for having the guts to do a different arrangement but too bad he picked the wrong song to do it with. There's no depth to the original lyrics and it only works because it's an up tempo song. It was so bad that I couldn't even finish watching his performance. I'm only watching the performances and nothing else, are these kids getting any sort of critiques and/or coaching? Because whoever told him this was a vibe needs to be taken out back...
TJ Zimba - Party Rock Anthem
I like this guy, I really do but WTF was that? I couldn't finish this one either. Where are the adults in the room? And/or who's telling these kids this shit is good?
Kiani Smith - Cheap Thrills
Sung well and I liked the country twang in the mix but two major criticisms... The performance was soulless and it's a song that's been covered to death. Are they paying the crowd to scream? Because this wasn't worth the big deal they put up for her... Again Idol in it's prime wouldn't have put up with a mediocre performance like this one.
