Just caught up the last two nights.
Imogen - Finally - I think she’s very talented but a little pitchy in this performance. She kinda got lost. I still think she deserves to go through. I like that they are giving them a longer performance time.

️
Luke - he has got really nice tone, why does he have to do a faster song, I bet Ripley doesn’t! He lost his lyrics and lost his way a bit. But it had moments of a great performance
️
️
️
Drea - Boo Thang - hard to judge, could barely hear her vocal. A fun performance. She’s very confident, but still a bit endearing.
️
️
️
Dylan - 500 Miles - wow. What a cool version and it really highlighted his excellent one. Definitely the best Dylan has been and probably my fave of the night. This is his Ripley moment.

TJ - Party Rock Anthem - this guy probably should have been on AGT as opposed to idol. He’s a great producer and makes some interesting choices, but let’s face it. He’s not a strong vocalist. He’s kinda like an Australian version of Will I Am. I enjoyed it.
️
️
Kiani - Cheap Thrills - Sia is a hard one to take in. Such a big song. Again I feel like she got lost in the song and production.
️
️
Denvah - 9 to 5 - I would have thought this was a good song choice but it didn’t really do it for me. I don’t think it actually showed off her voice, kept her in a lower register without her yodel which took away what makes her special. Great performing though. She moved and made it a party!

️
Amy - Ain’t No Other Man - PERFECT song choice for her. Huge vocals but she pulled it off. Great performance. Not everyone could hit those notes as effortlessly. Love her

Ripley - Uptown Girl - I’m a little bit torn with Ripley. He’s very talented. He seems like angrily nice guy, he has beautiful tone and texture to his vocal. But I just feel like he is a bit of a one trick pony. It wasn’t even as of last week was upbeat or anything different, last week he just stayed a bit more faithful to the original melody and nailed it. When you change things up it’s easier to hide behind imperfection, not that I think there was anything wrong with that performance, in fact I loved it. I just wish we saw some more diversity from him. I guess I wouldn’t necessarily be saying that if he was just his own artist, I just think he needs to bring something else to deserve the title of being Australian Idol. All that being said, I would rate tonight’s performance highly.

️
Ivana - Waiting All Night - a fine performance. I agree with Marcia at times she seemed to get lost in it and the big notes ran away from her, but she’s as a solid singer and put on a good show.
️
️
️
Trent - Shut up and Dance - I think he’s probably been brought far enough along. I think I said last week he is the token country guy. That wasn’t even a very country take on the song. Likeable enough guy. Not a great performance
️
Tyler - Pompeii - not the strongest vocalist, but very likeable and a good performance. I do like his voice
