Are we seriously getting no live updates at all this year?

I hope that you are right, but we are missing out on what happening in the house for the first few days.

Tonight episode probably won't even have that much footage from the house, this is the time when bonds are formed etc etc and we the viewers need to see it all.

Speaking of which, I just pruned the launch show down to ONLY footage of the HMs in the house. I got an amazing 18 minutes. By the time tonight's episode begins, it will be just shy of 48hrs with 18minutes of footage of HMs in the house.

This is what we've come to. :(
The no live updates thing is atrocious tbh.

And if tonight's episode glosses over actually substantial house footage from two of the most crucial days in the entire BB season then I am going to go off my rocket. I want to see them conversing, talking and meeting each other - not watered down garbage, if anything at all.

Tonights ep will be all about the 2 new couples, I don't know why they don't do like they used to, put them all on stage, not allowed to say a word, all go in, doors shut and bam, let it happen, twists are "great" but not why we watch it long term

I will be so pissed with not even those piddly live updates we would be thrown. They were the last crumbs of this show being an interactive experience of "seeing all that happens". This looks like it may be a decent season yet its seeming likely we will know sweet fa about these people apart from the 40 mins a night from 24 hours from the previous day.

THIS! FFS! Not cool.

OMG what is the point of the big brother concept at all, might as well have a crew of camera men literally follow them around.

I'm disappointed as well. I liked it when they had those updates last year that you could browse through quickly. I hope it comes back. Maybe they didn't like some people's negative comments. If they have the updates without the comments I would be fine with that.

If you think about it, it doesn't make sense to cut out the extra footage that we didn't see in the show entirely. They have to edit 24 hours of footage every day and then show us an hour or so of highlights of interactions and arguments or tasks. Where does that other 23 hours of footage go? In the trash gathering dust. I liked the little updates on the website, because it gave me a more rounded impression of the housemates that I couldn't get from TV alone. I actually remember liking Heidi from last year MORE because of conversations which were web exclusive.

And hey, if I'm a fan of Big Brother I am actively willing to click on a video with ads on it just to see 40 seconds of Priya and Katie laughing maniacally. Why? Because you should offer me more to watch! I'll watch the block online for web exclusives because it encourages me to look at the other shows Channel 9 has to offer.
