4 New Housmates Swapped with 4 Original!

I think who Ryan moved is as predictable as who got evicted. I think the swap is very annoying especially since they are staying in there until the end. These 4 intruders better be fun and interesting. The show is getting boring.

When BB was first explaining the rules to Ryan, Ryan asked if he could choose himself. I wonder if Ryan was considering sending himself and three of his mates into the Sanctuary. That would have been an intriguing alternative!

Wouldn't be a good move because I got the impression we will be seeing less of the neighbours.

Interesting swaps, I think Ryan did well with the combos in terms of splitting the couples given the parameters (2 guys, 2 girls).

As for no noms, all up, I think we'll ok then but I was also thinking if they really wanted a spanner in the works with the whole 'you guys are the neighbours now' and create a bit of tension would be the neighbours lose their nom power this week, and the power players get the chance to really shake things up by nominating for them, or in their place.

The new 'neighbours' could be nominated but can't nominate, but now with the numbers this small as well I think that might be too big of a power imbalance, so having everybody up/no noms was prob a more 'fair' overall way to go about this week and it's power play.

yeah BB didn't show last night who Ryan took to the Sanctuary as part of his HOH reward...maybe he's get to take 3 others for the night, and sleep in the newbies beds?

I guess who he swaps depends on what benefits, or advantages it might give him.I wonder if BB gives him any hints on which way to go...
Will he still get the dirty dozen power or will those 4 HM's end up with immunity from noms this week?

No nominations this week, they are all up for eviction, except the newcomers.

Reading this thread has made me realise for the first time that I actually like this year's housemates and the thought of them leaving is a sad one (even though I barely know them but still). That's something!
I had that with Jason's eviction, too.

Ryan did great in who he chose to swap. Cat leo priya and travis.he broke up the fake mances and got priya just becoause he knows she playing the game. Ryan is a smart cookie and even though I never liked him I'm beginning to now. He's showing he has some balls to play the bb game! The swapped ones won't be evicted but live in the sanctuary til evicted.

He was forced to pick 2 males and 2 females to go to Sanctuary

Hardly free choice

I really like this gimmick, even if it does mean we have to endure a bit more footage of Penny and her fake facial expressions.
I doubt Ryan will be given the power to actually choose which 4 to swap, BB will slip him $10 and some pingers and tell him who to choose, he'll probably just be the spokesperson for it. BB would already know who he wants swapped...I reckon he'll want to ruffle the feathers of those who are coupled up. Split them up maybe? Who knows.
I think Ryan is one of the cleverer housemates (which isn't saying much), and BB couldn't have chosen as well as Ryan did. The 4 chosen ALL have reasons to be annoyed with being out of the house, and there is not too much the meatheads can accomplish in the sanctuary together with Cat and Priya. Form a new alliance?

Priya and Travis were really pissed off, Priya presumably because she won't be able to see anything that happens in the house or do her diary room speculative 'reports', Travis presumably because he thinks he can't "hang onto" Aisha.
...he will split Lawson and Cat up, to see if any of the new women like Lawsons MAGIC and split Leo and Skye up, just because he can.1
So, ideally for me, he would swap Cat, Aisha, Leo and Priya for the newcomers. But I bet it wont happen like that. I would think they would be glad to be swapped to get away from the current task2, which might be finished already. The weekly tasks only seem to last for about 2 days, then we dont always get told the outcome of them... Did they eat all the lettuce from the week before?3 So many questions, not enough answers, thats Big Brother 2014.
1:smuggrin:. 2Good point and the task is probably finished because of some OH&S issue, which is probably why most tasks end early. I hope this gimmick gets followed through, though. It really wouldn't be that hard. 3I thought I saw Skye eating a raw zucchini. I love iceberg lettuce personally, and I'd like to see the shopper buy loads of tofu, a low-fat protein which yet would piss almost everyone off.

Except, in 4 pages of speculation, nobody managed to predict it.

Big, BIG advantage. However, the power play he got was advantage enough (didn't he enjoy it!), and there is no apparent sting in the tail, unless it is that a lot of HMs will remember him come next noms.

I'm just thinking through the different ways Ryan could have done this. If he wanted to split up all three couples, the only other people he could choose from for the fourth person who weren't coupled were Priya and David. So that gives the following six possibilites which break up all three couples and use either Priya or David to balance the genders:

Priya Cat Travis Leo
Priya Lawson Aisha Leo
Priya Lawson Travis Skye
David Cat Aisha Leo
David Cat Travis Skye
David Lawson Aisha Skye

Of those, I would go for one of the options that sends Aisha in, so Travis is left in the house with Lina.

Good thinking. Then again, Ryan agreed that it was a lot more peaceful when Travis was asleep and not bouncing around the house, so maybe he is just plain sick of him.

That's a good point - have the "neighbours" got any access to the diary room. I know pre-season there was speculation the Sanctuary was linked via stairs which could possibly lead to the Diary Room (though more likely connect to the entrance stairs), but surely they must have somewhere to vent as actually for once their diary room reactions to being banished to the Sanctuary will be quite interesting. Wouldn't be surprised at all if they're escorted to the DR by production.

Secondly I suspect just like with the Half Way House last year they'll have play dates pretty much every day so probably spend most afternoons in the main house anyway.

And finally do we know how it affects nominations going forward, or are producers yet to make that bit up. Maybe the new HoH power can be to save a nominee and send them to the sanctuary, bringing back a HM and putting them up for eviction instead. Or more likely this twist ends on Thursday anyway and next Mondays show is sold on the Neighbours moving back in after a whole 36 hours away!

The article on Jump-In says "Stay tuned for the Power Play fall-out!". So now we have to "stay tuned" and until the next show to see what happens instead of being able to find out as-it-happens via the live updates. With the way the show has been going this year I'm surprised they didn't save the swap for Thursday night so we'd have to wait 4 days to see the fall-out.

This whole power play could be interesting. Ryan asked if he could put himself into the Sanctuary and BB said that it would be a bad idea. So...........say the HM's have to pick 2 of the neighbours to stay and become HM's. The 2 neighbours that stay means that the 2 HM's that Ryan picked to swap with them stay as well. The other 2 neighbours and the 2 remaining HM's get evicted. Now that would be something. Just seems that there is a lot of HM's to get rid of in short time - something dramatic has to happen.

I think there was more strategy in Ryan's decision. He would know Leo and Priya are at loggerheads, (Ryan can't seem to stand Priya either) so there's far more strategy in his decision than he's letting on. I reckon if HE was allowed to be one of the swapped guys, it would have been him and David probably in there with Aisha and Cat.

I think you're right in the first, second and third instances. (I only really said the bit about the diary room, to bait the Prisus fans.)
