And if BBAU wasn't gone, it would have been available in HD, no doubt (based on Nine's channel announcements with NineHD on Channel 90 from late November). Oh well there's still HD hopes even on other networks if it does get picked up in the future.

Yep GEM will be in SD. Apparently Nine HD will be mpeg-4, rather than mpeg-2, for better efficiency with bandwidth (at the expense of some older set top boxes and tvs unable to decode the HD signal)
