2014 Ratings Thread

So the new norm is just over 600,000 on stunt nights.... so 500,000 on a Thursday?

After two seasons in this thread the thing that still blows my mind is how many people watch the bloody news. They don't rate in the demos but their overnights always kick ass. Every single night the news is either at the top of the ratings or very close to it. By the time the news comes on at night the info has been available for hours before to anyone with an internet connection so you're just watching the same old shit you've already heard earlier in the day. Is Peter Hitchener considered a sex symbol or something?! I don't get it.

Australia has a large population 55+
They all watch the news!

Its clear Nine doesn't want this show anymore and they are trying to sabotage it so that it loses its brand value if Ten were wanting to pick it up in the future. Such petty behaviour.

Don't think that if I ever get to that age I'll change my mind about watching a full news report, it's seriously tedious viewing.
Yeah but they grew up in a different age from us. Of course we will be a different seniors group. But today's group is who they are from where they came. If that made any sense whatsoever!

We will be on our computers / iPhones and iPad (won't we @Consuela?) in the nursing homes whilst the kids laugh at us as they get their chips injected into their brains or some shiz. Haha

Personally, I'm either always on my phone or on a computer.

But I never check the news.

The closest I get to news is what I read on forums, facebook trends/articles, and stuff talked about in youtube videos.

I just feel like there are better things to read, than to navigate amongst useless news on news websites or even in the paper, spend about 30 seconds reading to even gauge if I'm interested.

I watch The Project most nights, leave it on in the background, while I do other stuff. Easy way to catch up on the news.

And we will still be using our blackboards and chalk, that isnt racist by the way, whiteboards hadnt been invented. Then when it wasnt raining, we would be out playing marbles, conkers or hopscotch or with our tops and whips. The latter most certainly doesnt allude to S & M. We used to have to make our own fun, a couple of jumpers for the goal and a football and we would play for hours. Until the kid that owned the ball got the shits and took it home with him. Oh, the GOOD old days, before all these technical innovations. I was pleased to see the back of video recorders, they must have been invented by a 5 year old kid, because they were the only ones that could set them up. Thanks for reminding me :). I watch the news, but record it first, onto a 1TB drive through my windows media centre and watch it without the ads, as I do with all TV.

Meh, I get my news from several sources throughout the day, and very rarely watch FTA news broadcasts. I like to stay informed and I'm sometimes amazed (yet not surprised) at how different news agencies can get supposed 'facts' so different. I'd rather an overall view than the view of one news media's slant on a story, yet I guess they're all taking their own slant.
