2014 Ratings Thread

Well, the Big Bang Theory REPEAT rated 3rd and scored 1,189,000 viewers and Big Brother rated 18th and scored 637,000 viewers.
In my books, thats WALLOPED. People TURNED OFF after the Big Bang repeat, in droves. You are flogging a dead horse bleachy_dude, until 9 actually give BB a designated time slot, similar to previous years. By the ages of the housemates, they arent aiming at a different demographic, but by putting it on at a later time, thats whats happening and people are turning OFF.
People didn't turn off after the BBT repeat, which was last season's finale. After it aired BBT's season premiere aired from 8-8:30 and ratings jumped by another 200k and then dropped dramatically for BB. I don't think anyone was expecting BB to come anywhere close to the numbers of BBT last night.

Just another point - last Monday's The Block got 1.481 million overnight viewers. BB was at 673k overnight

This Monday, BBT got 1.348 million, BB 637k.

As a %, BB actually did a better job in comparison to its lead in. 45% last week to 47% this week.

Good luck Big Brother. May the odd for last nights rating be EVER IN YOUR FAVOR! If they aren't then Bye Bye BB. XX Untitled-Typo

It's over. Bye bye BB. We had our ups and down, and now its time for you to go to bed. *puts hand over eyes and closes them* *tear rolls down cheek*

What a disappointment, I was really hoping that the earlier time, would have given the show some momentum. Unfortunately, no matter how you want to sugar coat the demographics bullshit, the public have voted. So we might as well make the most of BB 2014, the year it died. R.I.P. Big Brother.

I still hope that I am wrong though and that they appoint someone to run the show, that HAS a clue. The BBB site crashed (no access) at about midnight Qld time last night, then came back on for about 10 minutes at 1 50 a.m. Qld time, then crashed again at 2 a.m. Did anyone else experience this? I couldn't find a thread about it. I was wondering how many people were online when it crashed.

Low total people results with high young demo results is how Channel 10 ran the show for years. In fact it was largely 10's overall strategy. Ten was actually more profitable with these kids of results for a while.

So you can ignore the demos all you want. They are there for a reason.

Also, to put the total people numbers into more perspective - not one single program cracked the magic million last night. Not even the news. Pretty low for a Tuesday night. Now tell me demos won't matter.

The viewers are probably catching up on their own home renovations, now The Block has finished.

Haha perhaps.

Numbers generally dip in daylight savings, but with last night's bad weather presumably keeping people in - the numbers reflect a larger trend.

I'm not saying BB is a guarantee for next year, but it helped Nine win the night overall last night and smashed the demos. It will all depend on how the negotiations go with Endemol and how much it costs to renew.

Yes I experienced this. I was actually watching my recording of last nights episode and following the forum stuff in tandem to see what people where saying. Then I got to the part where Sonya was showing the wrong slides ( hhahaha! ) and thought that maybe somebody was DDOS'ing the site because of some embarrassing revelation lol.

The forum has had a glitch around that time since the new software.
