...meet and greets... anyone interested?...

I would love to come and meet you 2 and Mrs S, I would like to visit art galleries with @Mr Stickyfingers , and go dancing with @GROOVER. Do you dance @Mr Stickyfingers ? I picture you twirling Mrs S.
And one day when my life isn't so complicated I will come for a trip, it can be so cheap now.
I know that you are going through a difficult time at the moment but it would be a pleasure to meet up with you should ever wander over to the eastside ;) I hurt my ankle a couple of years ago (dancing of all things) caused by an over enthusiastic dance partner :madd: and my ankle has never been quite the same since. My dance moves are very limited now:arghh:

Lol when you mentioned going dancing, this clip came to mind for some crazy reason .

Now the art gallery is definitely up my alley (love the place). There is a Frida Kahlo & Diego Rivera exhibition at the gallery now and I must go and see it before it leaves. The art gallery will be on our "To do" list for sure. Mr & Mrs S have to come too.:D

Even though this thread is officially condemned and due for demolition at 12.01am, Monday 4th of July, please feel free to PM myself or Mr S when the opportunity arises for a meet up.:)

I really miss these Fast Forward, Big Girls' Blouse, Late Shows. They were hilarious.

...I was just thinking Groover... we were going to totally demolish and abandon this thread but what if someone like the sweet kxk did come to Sydney for a visit and wanted to meet some of us at the same time?... maybe not totally abandon the thread but perhaps put it 'on hold' ... have it hovering 'in limbo' just as a vehicle for someone to be able to revive it for such meetings in Sydney?... the thread may become useful for just that?... others may have an opening in their schedules at that particular time and may want to join in if it suits them... it just didn't work out right this time that's all... the idea of the thread was good but just didn't work out this time due to lack of peoples schedules... so what do you think?... just an idea on my part... cheers.:)

...that clip cracked me up big time Groover lol!... funny as!... as with Khun Khun... I miss those shows too lol!... I used to love it when Steve Vizard and that other guy used to play the gay air stewards...

...and the 'Kung Fu' parody that they did was my all time favourite sketch...

...and you just can't forget the 'Fukkiri Rugs' sketches can you?... aaaaah!... such memories! lol!... cheers.

Hey Mr S,

I actually remember that "Kung Fu" clip (without even watching it) and loved how Steve Vizard was trying not to lose it but failed miserably laughing  The gay air stewards were a bloody hilarious. Like Khun Khun, I too really miss those aussie comedy shows.

These two were my absolute favourites in "Fast Forward". Magda & Jane just worked this skit so well.

P.S. Ok, we won't demolish the thread just yet. ;) Leave it open for the hijackers i.e Khun Khun & Mooseface:tongue: (or whoever else) may want to use the thread to make contact. :D

Yeahh. Just leave it? KK and I can occasionally hijack it to discuss Melbourne as well.....??

...yes of course Mooseface... all states are welcome to use it... the premise of the thread was to get forum members to meet each other at first just for Sydney... not thinking that it might take off for others in different states... but by all means use it for any 'meet-and-greets' elsewhere or just general chat if you wish... I hope that you guys get a good crowd together for some fun if it leads to that...

...as I said earlier in the thread somewhere... if yours is successful and you get a few people to attend it then the other states may try to beat that score and it could end up being a 'who can get the most people to attend' State of Origin type of competition lol!... hahaha!... as if!:whistling::biggrin:... but yes my friend by all means use it...

...hahaha!... ya bloody bugger!... that cracked me up Groover... you little devil you!... lol!... cheers.

Sticky, I am so not intending to engage in any S-o-O style competition with you - or anyone - re Meetups. Lets rule that out Right Now! First up - I'm in GERMANY! And secondly - Not my Style! However I MAY be back in August... And who knows I MAY run into someone from this thread....

Masterchef Australia alum Reynold Poernomo is transforming his KOI dessert bar into a pop-up inspired by The BFG.

On July 4, Reynold will overhaul his restaurant into “Rotsome”, and immerse his guests in Dahl’s Giant Country.

All your faves from the book make an appearance on the menu, except instead of being a foul-tasting vegetable, the Snozzcumber has had a total makeover.

Now a pistachio mousse with a caramel centre, giants would BEG to gobble down some of these bad boys. Reynold also incorporated his signature matcha moss into the dish to give it that KOI feeling.

Reynold told BuzzFeed he took inspiration from the film to create dishes like Swigpill.

The pop-up requires adults to be accompanied by a child, but with a list of creations with Dahl’s ridiculous names, Reynold isn’t worried about the kids not enjoying the menu. “The only thing I’m scared about is… I don’t think kids like peas! Hopefully they will.”

Brainstorming the menu with his brother, Reynold created dishes he felt would be at home in Giant Country.

“My favourite is the Swatchscollop, a savoury short-rib. It’s really smoky, rich, and it’s winter so it’s very warming. It looks cool too, something a giant would eat.”

“I tried to get inspiration from The BFG, and for me the colours were green, black, and brown.”

And while the pop-up will only be around for a day, hopefully Reynold’s inspiration sticks around, and who knows… maybe Frobscottle will stay on the menu!

...that looks bloody awesome!... thanks for posting it delcan... **stomach rumbles**... cheers.

Can you just remove Sydney from the thread title and keep it as a general open invitation sort of thing?
Posters can have pop up meets wherever, whenever, maybe. Wish I could join you 2, have fun, take pics:)Come online for a minute so we can live vicariously, maybe???Food pics and hey, here's a thought, tell Reynolds you are doing a review for Australia's biggest RTV forum - we can even prove it online in realtime, might get you some extras")

Don't think you can change a thread title once it's created... I think I have tried. (Or maybe a Mod can, but ... Not sure this thread warrants too much Mod attention)...

i was in Sydney but now i'm not. Sydney was busy. as a beee bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz watch out reepbot before it stings you! ha ha i will catch you and sting you for i am Barry the bee!

nooooooo!

i am stung. but through the power of my thoughts i manage to get unstung and save the villagers of tealeaf lane.

I couldn't give a flying frogs fat arse if you were in Timbukfuckingtu :madd:

You really are an annoying twat Reepbot. Go and spam, trash, have your little childish ramblings in your own shit of a thread.

...that's a great idea kxk but as Mooseface said... I think that only the Mods can change the title... I'll talk to Groover first to see if it's okay with her too and if she's right with it I'll contact one of the Mods... (I see Brekkie the most on here)... and will them ask him to change the title to ( ...'meet and greets'... anyone interested?... ) at least if that happens the thread won't just disappear into obscurity as Groover and I intended it too... we intended to 'demolish and bomb' the (what we thought) totally failed thread into oblivion for a bit of fun but if it could be put to good use then great lol!... (there's hope for the thread after all! :woot:)... as I said kxk... a great idea for the name change... but also... especially in telling Reynolds about the 'writing a review' idea... it might just work lol!... cheers.
