What's for dinner?

Edamame

I wish it wasn't so hard to buy where I live.
I live in an area generally still regarded to be very WASPy yet there are about three Asian grocers within driving distance of my house where one can purchase edamame. Delish!

There are 2 Asian grocers about 5 minutes walk from my house - one had no edamame, the other had edamame that had possibly been in their freezer since the 90's. So I went elsewhere

can you buy it fresh in Australia? I've inly ever seen and bought it frozen.

Tonight I'm taking the night off. I feel like Chinese food. It's been so long I have had it. It's only ever Thai food these days when we eat out. I need a change lol

last night I made home made bacon cheeseburgers. The meat patty was excellent, however the bread roll (Turkish bread) was too bready. IMG_1263.JPG

Tonight I experimented with fried chicken. The chicken was super moist as I soaked it in buttermilk for nearly 24 hrs, but the coating needs work. It was pretty bland. Not bad for first time though :)

I didn't know you could do that. Soak chicken in something to keep it moist. I must try that! Looks yum.

It definitely works. I've read that brining it works too but I don't fancy that. I reckon it would be mega salty.[DOUBLEPOST=1447341405][/DOUBLEPOST]

It is so hard to find good chinese food where I live. The last time we got it, the fried rice had raw bits of what looked like those nasty bacon bits you get from the deli & some grey looking stringy meat in it. I wouldn't have fed it to a dog.

I miss good chinese food :(
