That's pretty much how I felt too and what I expressed in the daily thread yesterday. If that were me I would have felt intimidated and felt like I was the outsider or the unpopular hm. It is not a good feeling. She wasn't laughing and she had every right to be upset about it. How would you feel in this situation, if fine then carry on, but try and be a little understanding that not everyone is built that way.

Are you kidding me? She is a manipulator because she is defending herself, because she expressed how it made her feel and that is ganged up on whether unintentionally or not- that's manipulating?
She didn't change the story, she expressed the story the way she perceived it but with David and co she took a diplomatic approach because she wanted them to understand where she was coming from rather than fully attack them
please differentiate between manipulating and defending, also differentiate the way you would explain yourself to others and to the people you have an issue with- it will not be the same!
I swear the lack of empathy towards Priya for feeling ganged up on is ridiculous!
She can't handle being disrespected! This has nothing to do with her game play! Ultimately she felt that all the boys were taking shots at her, and she was not laughing back. They are the new people and she felt like they believed what was said about her and jumped on the bandwagon.
Psychological torment is your entertainment? Ok then!
Let's remember, on all sides - they were in the middle of that sleep task AND it was evictions that night so it's natural that they would all be on edge to some degree.
I can understand why she wouldn't want them all to be chiming in that's for sure, and I know I get frustrated when people don't let me get my sentence out like they did when they were saying 'defence defence' etc. I do think that guys think something is funny when it's really not to me (I find that on this forum a lot lol).
The original comment from Dave was a joke, something that Priya admitted that they banter back and forth usually. It was the addition of the others that was a problem, and when Priya explained that to him in the kitchen he understood that and it hadn't been his intent - once he understood that the problem wasn't the original joke and he should have stopped it earlier.
To be fair, when Priya was retelling her story to Aisha and Skye she did change what Dave said. He said that sometimes it's better with a woman just to shut up and let them trash you. Priya said that he said that he doesn't have to turn around when a woman speaks. Which is completely different to what was said. I was disappointed with her when she did that.
But in my mind she redeemed that when she spoke to him directly and then also with David when she was addressing the boys in the gym he didn't interrupt and backed up the reasons why she was upset.
Travis was the one being a dick during that conversation to be honest but no mention seems to be made of him.

Sorry but I don't agree with the use of the word intimidation. It is incongruous with the facts of the situation.
Intimidation indicates intent such as scaring, menacing, frightening, terrifying etc.
This is clearly not correct.
They were taking the piss. And it was annoying the hell out of her. Did she have the right to be pissed off? Of course.
But she addressed it and ALL of the people involved apologised.
She's a strong woman who expressed herself clearly. Some think she over-reacted. Some think she was justified. In the end, she felt a certain way and called them out on it and sometimes males need to be educated (in my opinion).
Doesn't mean I think any less of David and I certainly don't think there was malice in his intent. The suggestion of otherwise is not on, in my books either.
Yes, I don't understand. Truly I would have felt intimidated. I do not use the word bully often, and I don't think it was bullying, but intimidating it was.
For me it wasn't a joke at all. I am not use of that kind of behaviour. None of my friends behave that way.

It'll still not be on if Priya were a man. Man aren't emotionally stronger than men as we think they are. As a man, I know I'd be very vulnerable if I were in her situation.

So you don't think David did this on purpose to make a tit out of Priya, someone he admittedly doesn't like very much, in front of the new housemates?
He was exposing a perceived weakness of hers' to them, for no reason, then tried to cover it with 'ah it's just a joke'.
That 'defensiveness' being pointed out to them will be in the back of their minds whenever they think of Priya now. It can't be taken back.
Whether he did this consciously or subconsciously? I don't know. But it wasn't an accident in my opinion.

No because they both said (David and Priya) that they banter back and forth all the time. I think you're reading more into his intent than was there.
I don't think he was trying to put her down, I think she's one of the people he can talk to in there. I DO think that it escalated beyond where it should be and Priya rightly told him he should have been the one to tell them to stop. I'm not saying that I wouldn't have found the whole thing annoying if it was me. I would have probably pushed him in the pool.
I think they're both good people.
