My guess is that either a better show was on another channel or, more likely, people were unhappy with the result of BB Australia 2012 (not solely the winner, but the overall season). It seems the 2012 show didn't create a strong base that continued to the following season.
I feel this current season had a strong start because of following the Block and because I think most people felt positive about the 2013 show and looked forward to this one. But I feel they've made too many changes and overly complicated the voting and eviction process. At the same time, they have shown less of the individual housemates.
How is anyone going to decide who to vote for? Even if you are willing to spend money to save one housemate, what if you don't care about their partner? And, even if you do spend money, you still may not save the housemate you want, because the house could still evict them.
I mean, are there any characters Australia cares about? I feel the cast could be good but the twists and the weird editing has hurt them.
Maybe it doesn't matter because Gemma is almost certainly first out.
