Just reading a little on Neville Wran, his government decriminalised homosexual acts, and crimialised rape within marriage. Deserves to be remembered. They don't tell the kids about that on The Amazing 80s.

I saw/heard Hurricane Carter, he was on the bill with Nelson Mandela when he came here in 2000 I think it was.

He was electric, amazing presence and commanding speaker - considering he was visiting with a living legend I was impressed

Breaking news, the guy who used to read the news for the Today Show on 9 carked it.

I am not sure what is sadder, the fact the much loved man died, or the fact the Today Show had the 7 minute death reel, sad music and all ready to go with in seconds of his death announcement.

A lot of TV stations have this ready for ageing/sick ex personalities. A relative of mine died a few years ago and was a well known Aussie. Within half an hour, stations were playing tributes with interviews of people remembering them and everything. It was quite confronting for us, but nice to know they felt a tribute was necessary.
