‘Big Brother: Secrets & Lies’

The twins are growing on me:
"I'm just giving the public what they want."
"What, a moaning fat kid?"

Sallie was every bit the fame whoring glamour model and what's with the name - Sallie Axl - not her real surname surely. Wanna be rock chick on one of those dreadful US let's all try and date a rock star reality shows? Horrid woman, so glad she got the boot.

So last week Michael got to save Dexter because Dexter had the lowest amount of public votes. I was wondering if next week and the weeks following the HOH will get to make the decision on who gets saved like the Housemates thought it was last week or if it will be the Housemate with the lowest eviction votes each week? If it is the HOH's decision that is a big advantage for them and it could throw a spanner into the works for quite a few of the evictions. Considering it is the public voting to evict though I don't think someone can be taken off the chopping block mid week by the HOH because people have been spending money trying to vote that person out. It must be whoever is on the lowest amount of eviction votes on Wednesday each week gets saved.

Have they said the HoH will continue?

Good to see Emma yesterday in her pre-show interview actually not sitting on the fence and saying it would be best for the show for Sallie to go as she was dominating it and not allowing other characters to shine - exactly why vote to evict can work so well and lead to the show changing focus each week. It's catch 22 obviously as you don't want dullards left at the end, but on the other hand it helps the show keep fresh week to week and gives better eviction shows along the way as often if you vote out the boring ones you just end up with boring interviews, and then due to the stupidity of BBUK producers always leaving far too many HMs in for the final you end up with the decent HMs at the end barely getting 5 minutes to chat after their eviction.

I imagine that finding out Michael was an actor would actually make things worse for Wolfie, if she's bright enough to work it out, because having 1 person calling you the least attractive / hygienic is nowhere near as bad as having the public say it!

Thought I'd join you guys and give it a go. (I gave up on BBCA after a few weeks.)

The whole Michael thing is interesting... I do find him quite irritating though. I'm only up to Day 3's Daily Show so I'm yet to really see more of these HM's, but there's just something about the way he's conveying himself as the People's Puppet. Maybe it's because I know he's an actor? Not sure...

I am LOVING Dan, however. Really, really love him. ;) I also immediately took a liking to Sophie too. The girl seems really sweet and genuine. The twins are bloody awesome together too - I can see them lasting a very long time. Same with Wolfy.

I cannot stand Dexter - he needs to go asap - and I'm beginning to see how really overwhelming Salli is/was. Also, I think it's safe to say that Jemima wants Sam bad.

The house looks great and am loving the doors! And Emma is fantastic. :D

All in all, interesting start to the season. I'll see how long I can keep up...

I'm sorry but "I wish I could have that shredder now...I would just shred her", bahaha!

You need to get caught up! I think your opinion on dan might change by eviction night lol

I love Hazel

The whole HOH thing was just a ruse tho wasn't it? I'd be surprised if it was an actual thing.

I'm up to Day 6 now and you're right about my opinions changing. Not so much of Dan yet, but definitely of Gina and a few of the others. Gina confuses me because there were times that I actually felt sorry for and kinda liked her, and I got the feeling that she was just a bit misunderstood in the house. But then things like that "racism" row happened and she totally shocked me.

I won't go too much into that issue, for obvious reasons, but wow I think that was completely ridiculous and Gina so blew it way out of proportion. I was watching her argue with Jemima and wanted to slap Gina, she totally acted out of line, took what Jemima said completely out of context when she told the other HM's about it and made it sound worse than what it was to them. She hardly allowed Jemima to speak and then took her around the house continuing to yell and say things differently as they moved to different areas where other HM's were to make Jemima look like she was the one in the wrong. I thought it was awful. I don't think it was right for the warning to be given either, but that's just my opinion. Anyway.

I'll see how I go with the rest. :p

THB though she may not have had racist intentions but taking time to point out she doesn't like "black men" in front of a person of color could be offensive... And personally I don't have a problem with Gina's reaction, it was Jemima that made the situation confrontational but throwing insults... The real problem is that BB really shouldn't have gotten involved as the comments weren't intended to be racist and Jemima shouldn't have been reprimanded...

ETA: Dan is dreamy...

Actually, you're right. I guess that's what we want to see, a discussion (or a heated discussion in this circumstance) between two people who have opposing opinions about something. It's the point of the show. By Big Brother intervening, I spose he made it the issue it became...

Well, I'm watching the Eviction show as we speak so I'll be back once I'm done. :)

Okay, so I've caught up to date and first things first, Marcus absolutely shits up the wall. "Seven..fifty-foouuuurr..pee..emm.........and Big Brother narrator...Marcus.....is a..very specific...douchebag."

Anyway. To be honest, while Sallie was the right person to go (although I would have much preferred Dexter had he not been saved) she was another character who confused me. Like Gina, there were times that I actually kinda liked her, especially towards the end. She was very cluey, particularly when it came to being judge of character on other HM's (Dexter, Michael, etc) but I just think her downfall was the fact that she is a very opinionated, loud person - which may not always be such a bad thing, but it definitely did her no favours here, especially all that constant bloody whinging about those freakin' clothes! Every episode. She really couldn't let that go, which affected her. That and the constant over-analysing and thinking too much about the whole "secrets and lies" thing, rather than just taking it as it came and enjoying it. Oh well, it'll be interesting to see how her departure changes the group dynamic.

I'm still a fan of Dan though (he's by far my favourite at the moment, he's the most switched on, not to mention that I would let him arrest and body-search me any day ;)), but Dexter still pisses me off. I still don't quite get why he thought it was a good decision to blurt out his suggestion card comment like that, it couldn't have achieved much. I felt so bad for Wolfy too with the whole quiz thing - that was terrible, poor girl.

I also don't get why Big Brother series' never seem to ever like stretching their major twists over the course of a whole season. (Or at the very least, a month.) They always end them so prematurely. :( In this situation, however, I'm glad it's over - Michael and the People's Puppet thing started to annoy me and I was kinda over it.

The next ep better go up soon! :D I'm predicting Wolfy and Jack & Joe will be there 'til the very end...

Today's highlights are on YouTube right now... I've already watched but really didn't feel like adding any comments on it...

Just spent the weekend having a BBUK catchup marathon. Exhausted.

I reckon BB tends to be boring for the first 2-3 weeks until you get to know people, but I was hooked from the start. A good mix of housemates this year.

Having a mole was great, but I think the public shouldn't have controlled him as it made his character inconsistent and that is what got him rumbled. They should have been more strategic with Michael's behaviour so he could have stayed longer, but as it was it became pointless.

Hated what they did to Wolfie. Allowing voting on someone's unattractiveness and hygene is cruel and unnecessary. It was always going to hurt someone's feelings and was poor form by the producers.

Disappointed with the three nominees, I think they all have more than one week's interest for viewers.

And my two cents on the racism row: Jemima wasn't racist but she was racially insensitive making those comments in front of Gina. Nothing wrong with Gina saying she was uncomfortable, but as the discussion degenerated they both became idiots.

Re BOTS: Does anyone know if Emma was always going to host shows, or have Rylan and AJ been demoted?

Oooh, and am loving the growing belief in Wolfie getting the inside word from insects. So so funny.

All caught up now.

Gina's growing on me a lot.

I like the dependency thing with the hot water and the hair appliances, it makes pairing up essential. The hot water's my favourite as it seems to create private moments.

Re BOTS: Does anyone know if Emma was always going to host shows, or have Rylan and AJ been demoted?
It was always the plan. Considering though they're now going live to the house on Monday and Wednesdays you'd think they'd have her host those nights just so she can top and tail the live shows and perhaps announce the nominees herself.

Just finished latest episode.

Jack & Joe are hilarious together. They're so funny, almost too funny, at times. :D

And I have to say, for the very first time I saw a side to Dexter that I didn't find all that bad tonight.

I really hope there's a lot more secrets on the way too...
