Do you identify as high-functioning autistic?
If so, which of those symptoms do you feel apply to you?
I have been diagnosed with asperger's sydnrome, which as far as I know is just another word for high functioning autism. though i could be wrong.
But looking at the symptoms of high functioning autism i relate to a lot of them.
I shall go symptom by symptom and write if I feel any of those apply to me.
Emotional incident can determine mood for day: yes, very much so.
overwhelmed with too much verbal direction: applies to me.
calmed by external stimulation: yes.
desires comfort items: no, unless tina arena albums count.
difficulty with loud or sudden sounds: yes.
emotions pass suddenly or are drawn out: yes.
inappropriate touching of self: nope.
intolerant of food texture, colour, and present on plate: some textures, some colours, and i don't like food touching each other unless they are meant to do so.
laughs, cries, or throws a tantrum for no apparent reason: nope.
may need to be left alone to release frustration or temper: yes.
resists change in the environment: only if the change is unexpected.
sensitive to certain textures or smells or anything like that: yes.
tends to tune out or break down when being reprimanded: yes for tune out.
very high pain tolerance.
difficulty transitioning from activities at school: nope.
difficulty with fine motor: yes.
difficulty with reading comprehension: no.
good rote memory: yes.
skilled in some areas, but not in others: yes.
resistance or inability to follow directions: sometimes, but only if they are not explained well.
short attention span: yes, if it is not one of my interests.
food allergies or sensitivities: gluten i think.
lack of concern of hygiene: nope.
appearance of hearing problems but hearing fine: nope, my hearing problems are just caused up by build up of wax because of my narrow ear canals.
constipation: nope.
difficulty changing from one floor surface to the other: nope.
difficulty moving through space (bumping into things or people): yes, mostly things.
frequent burping, or vomiting: nope.
incontinence: nope.
irregular sleep patterns: nope.
odd or unnatural posture: yep.
seizure activity: nope
toe walking: no, don't think so.
funny gait: yes.
walks without swinging arms freely: yes.
aversion to answering questions about myself:
in real life: yes.

jokes: depends on the kind of joke.
sarcasm: don't really hear it that much to know.
figures of speech: some figures of speech but not all.

does not generally share observations or experiences with others: yes, that is true for real life. online a bit different.
find it easier to get on with people older or younger than me rather than people my own age: i find it difficult to socialize with anyone tbh.
gives spontaneous comments with no connection to conversation: yes, all the time.
makes honest yet inappropriate observations: yes.
minimal acknowledgement of others: yes.
overly trusting or unable to read motivations behind people's action: kind of, depends on how attractive the woman is.
prefers to be alone, aloft, or overly friendly: yes to alone.
