Tim Dormer back in the House

Big Brother so got it wrong this year. I can't remember since watching BB from the very start, have they got a bunch of mismatched housemates. Nothing gels.

Just saying.
I completely agree. I think the pairs idea just highlighted the mismatched HMs and not in the way BB wanted.

I'd be willing to bet you $100 that if that is the case and he gets to decide who goes home (which I don't think it is as he said tonight it's shit that HMs get to choose) he would pick Gemma to stay. He likes Gemma, David, Priya and wants to bone Skye. He also said in his BB vid that even he wouldn't vote for Jake as it is. Tim's a lot of things but he's not afraid to play BB properly. He feels for Gemma as he feels she's being isolated.
I heard that he really upset Gemma at the auditions last year so that would be an interesting dynamic. She's already proved she's volatile with the pillow punching meltdown.

One of the BBUS seasons had a couple of 'all stars' go in mixed with the regular HMs.

I think @Timdormer is perfect to go in and ruffle it up, I've just listened to the podcast -- he wants to rally the misfits, rattle the cool group. Say what needs to be said and now even more I believe that he can actually get this season back on track in a perfect way. So excited to see what happens.

To send him in this early feels desperate and like a cheap stunt. I hope you're right though ... this series needs help fast.

I am struggling to watch it in live time. I tape it and watch 3 eps in a row.

It is too late for me. As a worker who needs to be an early riser, the time slot is too late for me
^^^^THIS!!! Hahahahahaha!!!

But seriously what the hell. At least in the past years it is apparent that a large percentage of the BB viewing audience are school age kids. Starting the shows at 8:45 is a death nell to a large percentage of viewers.

That and like TraLa said, I get up at 0dark30 in the morning to get to work and being up until 10:30 at night watching BB is going to stop whether I like it or not. Work is actually suffering and that's not a good thing.

@metaRohan We hear you. We've been running our site for 13 years and this is the worst act of desperation we've seen. @AlexMavroidakis
Haha love Rohan

I'm personally excited that Tim is going to go in the bb house and hopefully change the dynamics in the home. I'm at the point where I am happy to watch the show after the scheduled time (but try not to because I do love the live threads and more so than the show). Still haven't watched last night's one and not as excited to. So something needs to happen to make me get interested a little more and Tim on Sunday is exactly what I needed.

I get why people don't like this though and tbh if I was enjoying the show I would have been saying Tim is so 2013. But the fact that this years bb is so very little of that concept and really has turned to a shithouse, I am glad that they are doing this with Tim.

I reckon bringing the live feed would easily raise interest and bring the audience in imo. Just that alone would make a difference. but what would I know. Alex is the bb purist apparently.

Just when you think this series couldn't get any worse. Presumably they'll pretend Jake and Tim have never met in yet another lie to the viewers.
I don't think that would go down well with the public unless it was a challenge. When it came out they were room mates I think the house mates would have kittens and Jake would quickly be evicted.

Yes things do change but the changes that Channel 9 and the executive producers Alex and Chris have made has created a pale version of what Big Brother is about.

First off this show/social experiment was originally meant to be able to be watched 24/7 with cameras available to watch on the official website. Now we only get shown the producers edits on the daily show. Back in 2001 you could watch the house online. Now in 2014 we have nothing. How is this possible with how far technology has advanced. Other country Big Brother's get live feeds. Even Big Brother US who originally didn't have a live feed until a few years ago. People here have suggested a live feed on delay. Fair enough if channel 9 are worried about inappropriate things happening in the house and don't want to get into trouble. But no that is not even an option. Alex says that no one would watch the feeds and nothing ever interesting happens. This is a big fat lie. It is just a poor excuse for no live feeds. The past two years they have provided a twitter account with few words of what was going in the house every hour and so. They also had a few short videos every day. That was the bare minimum. Now they can't even provide that.

2. Contrived content. Housemates can no longer think by themselves. Big Brother must direct and start conversations for housemates. In the channel 10 days housemates naturally talked about various topics on their own free will and the program managed to be fine then.

3. Adult content disappeared. Having an adults only/un-cut show was crucial to getting a whole picture of housemates personalities of the show that couldn't be aired at 7.00pm. Many times us viewers were shocked that housemates came off very nice in the daily show but in the uncut show it was like they were a completely different person with their comments/actions on adult issues etc. Why is it so hard for them to create a adult content show with highlights of adult conversations in the week without a contrived party asking the housemates to discuss adult issues. The nudity was nice ( in my opinion haha!) but it was never really the point of the uncut show. The adult conversations were and I have no idea why they are scared to bring back uncut without the nudity. The sad thing is the people and politicians who complain about the sexual content on Big Brother are the people who are not BB's demographic at all and wouldn't even watch Big Brother in the first place no matter how family friendly they make it.

4. Treating viewers like children. Like I said above the demographic who complain about Big Brother would not watch the show no matter how kid friendly it gets. Yes children watch Big Brother but those same ones should be in bed after 9.00pm and not watching the adult show. It is not Big Brother's responsibility to watch its content for parents who do not monitor their kids. Teenagers (15+) are mature enough to watch the adult show. I did at 15 and I turned out TV. (Simpsons joke :p) I turned out fine. Surely the violence on the other channels at that time are more offensive then adult conversations on the show. There's also a parental lockout on most Digital TV sets. If worried parents can't lock out MA 15+ for their children perhaps they are not smart enough to be a parent and let their kids watch TV in the first place. Anyway by treating the viewers like children I mean things like Surly the fish. Only little kids would be entertained by that.

5. Manipulating outcomes for ratings/to get the result they want. They did this in 2008 and 2012. They either held lines open until they got the winner they wanted and/or revealed the voting graphs before lines closed. I believe Alex worked on both these seasons. In 2008 they wanted grandmother Terri winning so they could have the title "oldest BB winner worldwide". In 2012 the producers wanted Benjamin to win so he could propose to his boyfriend at the finale and could say they had the first gay marriage proposal. This is not on. Voting results should never be revealed until after the evictee/winner is announced. Who knows what outcomes 2008 and 2012 could have had. I think this is so wrong the executive producers did this and it's a laugh if you think this is ok and you are a BB purist. What would original executive producer Peter Abbott say?

6. Favourites. Is it just me or does anyone else notice that since BB has came back to Nine that Big Brother suddenly has favourites? We never had this in the Channel 10 version. Frankly it puts you off the show when the producers push a favourite down your throat. Are we really that stupid (the viewers) to be told who to like? Frankly it does the opposite effect to me. Favourites should never be picked by the producers. All players should be equal. Tell the story of how it actually is in the house.
The producers favourites for 2012: Bradley and Michael
2013: Ben

After writing all of this it's clear that Alex has no respect for Big Brother and the viewers. So many things the executive producers have done are morally wrong.

Can anyone add anything to my list or elaborate? I need to sit down. :wacky:
All of this ^ 100% agree
