The money question..

They did do a challenge. You think that wasn't a challenging decision to make? A challenge doesn't have to be physical. Early in the episode they were commenting on how something was bothering Katie.
Taking the money was only half of the 'task'. The other half is justifying their decision to pissed off fellow hms which they don't seem to be handling well at all so as far as I'm concerned they are failing miserably and deserve everything they get or lose. lol

If Katie was clever she should be crying and showing regret and telling the housemates shes going to ask BB to take the money back... then go into the diary room, thank BB for the money, have a bitch about how pious they all are, then go back down stairs crying at how BB said no.

If I were in the position of those 2, I would've done a runner by now. Think about it, they've already won as much money as the first runner up of last season series.

That would put a spanner in the works of BB shenanigans, he'd be begging them to stay.

I agree that this is the biggest parrt of it. If Katie wasn't wavering it wouldn't be an issue. I would just say no. I would tell them that I made the decision because I need the money and if they don't like it then they shouldn't be on BB. I kind of would also point out how this is probably not going to be the worse of it, as it is only day 3 or 4 in a few month show run. I'd tell them they need to harden up.

That's right! Be one or the other, don't flip flop.
It's also another reason I'm pissed at the housemates, why say it's totally fine and then turn around and start throwing a tantrum.

So funny everyone hating on the housemates for wanting the money (to buy food!) Try living on protein shakes and nothing else and see how diplomatic and serene you are!

I love how Sam says his ideal meal would be ribs
BB " there are now ribs"
Someone will say I love Pizza and any bet BB will get the ninjas to make a Pizza!

I'm surprised how quickly the housemates seem to have worn the girls down into setting a budget and possibly spending a portion of the money for food. It didn't take long.

we all know that BB will jack up the prices if they set each HM a budget so it all seems like a bit of a futile agreement....

Yep, that's exactly what I said when the HMs were discussing this... it's pointless to agree to spend like 3k in total because the next thing on offer in the diner will be 4 grand for 1 person (exaggerated, obviously).

I wouldn't give them a cent. Put it this way, would you rather spend 1k on your partner/child/best friend or on a bunch of random ungrateful, whiny, entitled brats? The only reason anyone would cave in and give the other HMs any money is either due to strategy, or weak character, because they can't hack the pressure. Think about Tim last year. He wouldn't have given them a penny, and he would have delivered it somehow that the public saw him as a mischievous little imp, and he wouldn't have given a damn about the fallout in the house. In fact, by refusing to give them any money you're allowing them all to hang themselves with their own rope, because they're carrying on like such fucking babies, or bullies, which won't go down well with the public. The reactions of Travis, Sam and Jake in particular were particularly appalling, and Skye's attitude has me thinking even more so that she's a master strategist. Jason, on the other hand, is trying too hard to be the nice guy peacemaker and is coming off as phoney. Travis is currently my least liked HM.

kttcoliwhoo
Too real. I agree.

I'm sure that this has been asked already but I'll ask anyway...

What would Big Brother have done if Katie and Priya hadn't taken the money? Nothing? Offer it to another couple?

And that's why this task is so genius.

Travis was a problem solver not an antagonist

I'm kind of hoping that the next time money is offered the twist is that if the money isn't taken then they have to live of shakes for 7 days
