I remember milk at school

- and that was in NZ - not here in Australia where it would be in much hotter sun
I remember 6 winegums for 1c ... and if mum sent me up the road for a loaf of bread it was 14c and I could have the 1c change for lollies ... winegums were the best value for my 1c!
iceblocks (aka icy poles here) were 4c
a pint of milk was 4c and we'd put 4 empties out in a wire crate/holder thing with the 16c in one of the bottles ... the milkman would come along and leave our milk at the letterbox for us ... this was either early evening in or early morning ... when I was in high school some of the cute guys helped with the milk run ... always seemed to know what time the milk delivery could be expected
I remember celebrating the first day of holidays by skipping along the retaining wall, missing my step (did I mention I'm a bit of a clutz?), hitting the wall with my elbow on my way down ... running into the garage so I could say SHIT SHIT SHIT!!!! without my mum growling at me for swearing (still hadn't heard the F-word otherwise you can be sure that would have been the word of choice!!! lol) ... trying to pretend it was ok because we were going away the next day ... but it was broken and I was off to hospital with dad ...
