A new version of THE Borrowers is being shown on the BBC in England on Boxing Day...I want it :D

Really?! My mum recently downloaded all the season for my sisters and my daughter watched it an enjoyed it. I'll have to look for a torrent or something for it so she can catch it.

Did ab fab not air here?? I'd have thought it would, and it'd be on ABC but it's not on iview. I'll use the link Miajahar posted.

Anyone seen Housos on SBS? My sisters were blathering about it being hilariously funny the other day and I managed to find some eps online to watch. It's pretty funny. It's about a housing department suburb in Sydney take the piss out of bogans type show.

Really not much you're missing from the UK this Christmas. Downton Abbey was the jewel in the crown, and I suspect Seven will tag on the Christmas episode to the end of the series as it's not really based around Christmas. Mrs Brown's Boys easily the best comedy over the weekend - worth checking out the first series if you haven't seen it and are a fan of foul mouthed elderly transexuals. The second series begins here next week. A new adaptation of Great Expectations begins tonight on the BBC and runs for three nights.

Just reading that the next season of SYTYCD will be without a results show, and therefore, the format will have to be changed. How do we reckon Nigel will do it?

I quite like the results show. I mean yes it is long & drawn out but what's the alternative? Dancing With The Stars type shows where they just shunt someone off in the first 5 minutes always seem like an anti-climax.

I don't think the DWTS style boot off would really work for SYTYCD, but I'm not sure how it would work otherwise.

They do know what the word celebrity means, don't they? Whey they have to give a graphic account of who these people are then it kind of nullifies the status of celebrity, doesn't it?

I knew who 8 of them were on name recognition alone. That's not too bad in my book.

In other RTV news, it looks like Australia is set to get a Real Housewives franchise of our own.

Geez great

I guess there just can't be enough white trash to not stop making these shows.

Don't forget that utterly fake looking "Please marry my boy" That mother looks awful familiar and sounded so fake on the promos.

Here's how I think this show works:

Show: Introduces the boy, mum and sets up the show.

Show: Introduces a more outward extroverted type girl
Girl: I used to be a topless waitress and occaional pole dancer
Mum: Frowns
Boy: Smiles
Mum: Rejects girl

Show: Introduce a more plain jane girl
Girl: Hi I'm an ordinary girl, I do volunteer work in a library and go to church, and work in a vet hospital
Mum: Smiles
Boy: Frowns
Mum: Oooh this one's a keeper

I knew 6 :o :D

Teresa Giudice has been involved in several major altercations in The Real Housewives on New Jersey and if anyone mentions anything to do with her and her husbands financial status she is likely to get very upset and I don't mean teary.

Debbie Gibson was in Skating with Celebrities years ago.

I've heard of these (ones I have respect for in bold) :

Dee Snider (yes really! We're Not Gonna Take It & I Wanna Rock are classic 80's)
Tia Carrere
Debbie Gibson
Lou Ferrigno
Victoria Gotti
Penn Jillette
Arsenio Hall
Aubrey O’Day
George Takei

putting this out to a certain TV blogger. When your criteria for pick of the night is half naked men on a TV show then you need to get a new job.

Clay Aiken
Teresa Gludice
Dee Snider
Lou Ferrigno
Penn Jillette
Michael Andretti
George Takei
Patricia Velásquez

I know 8. Do I win a prize? :D though I'm only interested in Dee, Lou, Penn, Sulu.

most shows have that sort of hit and miss scatter gun of celebrities so they can pull in every sort of fan. they have Star trek nerds, comic book nerds, Sports fans, housewives fans, people who like hot chicks with slamming bodies - something for everyone ;)

I agree Goffy, there will be someone for everyone, the main thing is I am sure they all have decent sized egos which will make for good television.

I am currently addicted to re-runs of The King of Queens :o (didn't watch the show the first time around) and Lou Ferrigno is their Neighbour in some episodes.

So, I'm hearing strong rumours that Kerri-Anne is the first to sign up for this year's DWTS, and that she's likely to sign with Channel 7 for other projects.

Ooh I like, I've always wanted to see her on this kind of show. I wouldn't mind seeing Melissa Doyle or such also on the show just to see if they can actually do anything, despite the fact I do like both of them... The fail factor would get me to watch.

Thanks for that link Mia, oh how i adore bubbles

And re KAK, she suits DWTS, cheesey, flashy/fondness for sequins, daggy, and she would be a perfect host - eventually.
And there are all of these bits in the press about what 'big shoes' sonia has to fill - I disagree, KAK is the dullest a.m host around.

Wasn't KAK going to be one of the "dancers"
