The Bachelor Australia 2015

She won't do bachelorette?

I'm just going off her comments in that OK article that Reaper posted. She said something along the lines of not thinking she could go through something like that again. Who knows though. They might not even have another season of the Bachelorette. They never ever rate as well.

Well that's depressing!

I was at least holding out to that option. Hopefully when the show is done she sees her following and might be tempted. I can only hope

is this the first Bachelorette AU though? I think it will have a flow on from Bachelor devotees for the first show at least ... and some will view it due to curiosity to see how Sam Frost is doing ... but unless they capture interest from night one it will be a downward slope from there ... although can see the teenies getting very feral out there on SM when their chosen bachelors get "denied a rose"

do they do the rose thing with the guys? shouldn't they be handing out Bunnings vouchers or BBQ tongs??? or thongs maybe??

Just get some really hot men. Not that I'm persuaded by such obvious tactics :whistling:

In seriousness though, I'm only going to tune into bachelorette because of you guys and bachelor is only as interesting I think because of this thread. I do enjoy our interactions and therefore the show more enjoyable

Yes, it will be the first AU series.

I love the Bachelorette for the attractive men...that's enough incentive for me haha. For some reason though it just can't hold an audience the same way. Hopefully the Aus series is different but I think you'll be right that people will tune in initially out of curiosity but interest will slip after that.

And yes they get roses haha.

maybe we could make some practical suggestions of what she could be giving the Bachelors instead of roses ... the guys are hardly going to be pressing them and keeping them forevs now are they?

how about a 6pack (BEER ... not muscles - hopefully they already have that sorted :whistling:

or keys to the gym ...

roses are just sooooooooooooo ... The Bachelor .... they just don't cut it for The Bachelorette !!!

I'd never really bothered with the previous season until this forum. Thought I'd tune and stay in touch. Behind The Bachelor.

It'll depend on Frost's season.
Typically though, from what I've watched, guys aren't nearly as entertaining.
They sort of go...'Oh well' whereas girls get really invested.
And I watched a season with some real creepers, there was this one guy that kept asking the chick to the fantasy suite...he came up to her like 5 times in the night, she had to ask him to leave.

I'm glad you said that, people say they saw 'no connection' with him and Sarah and...I dunno...I saw some chemistry there and he certainly enjoys kissing her.
Sarah is under rated.

To be honest I wondered about that question too, mainly I think from her side because she talks in kind of a formal way. But that kiss was definitely quite hot, so it had me wondering.
In the end, it's about who Sam wants, I think it's dumb to blame him for not feeling for someone what you'd hope he does and he has been pretty up front and genuine so far.

How important is this 'chemistry' and 'connection' in terms of building a stable long term relationship? Which I suppose is the aim of this show. For people to hopefully find something long terms like marriage and maybe kids?

I think different people put different emphasis on what kind of connection they need in a relationship to be honest. I know an older couple who had an arranged marriage and absolutely hated one another to start off with and now, 40 years on, they say they couldn't be happier together. I also have a friend that married a guy quickly she met overseas and had amazing chemistry with and they were divorced soon after. On the other hand I have another friend who started off sleeping with a guy and not seeing him as relationship material but now they're engaged 5 years on.

And I like seeing the tables turned and seeing the woman in charge lol

Yeah, boutonnieres.

In a relationship that can develop naturally over time, I think they are fctors which initially interest you in someone but there are other, and in my opinion, more important factors in keeping a relationship together. Given the timeline of this show, I think that chemistry and connection is one of the main ways for him to gauge if he wants to get to know someone better.

Yeah. I don't actually think that Sam has gone into this looking for a wife. Of course they say he is but that's just the line they run with in the series. What I think he has done is tried to find someone he could see himself dating in the real world then wait and see if there's potential for it to turn into something lasting (like marriage) later down the track. I think Blake is the only one weird enough to actually propose to someone at the end of it.

but by the time the Bachelorette rolls around next season people will have moved on and forgotten all about Heather and she'll be back into her normal life AND she's supposedly already said she would have second thoughts on doing anything like this ever again ...

Sarah is under-rated because there's just a little bit of awkward in there between them ... but last night's date was a huge improvement ... what a shame they got sujected to an opera singer though! 2nd only to an untuned violin or bagpipes ....

how can you be moved by that when 1. you don't know the story of the opera and 2. you can't understand a word they are saying ... so are you moved by their wringing hands, their wiggling eyebrows, their facial expressions (which on the high notes and low notes can be kinda awks) ... I just don't get that at all

oh and I googled to find out if it was a love song ... this is from wikipedia but I couldn't be bothered looking anywhere else ... its opera ... *yawn*

"O mio babbino caro" ("Oh My Beloved Father") is a soprano aria from the opera Gianni Schicchi (1918) by Giacomo Puccini to a libretto by Giovacchino Forzano. It is sung by Lauretta after tensions between her father Schicchi and the family of Rinuccio, the boy she loves, have reached a breaking point that threatens to separate her from Rinuccio. It provides an interlude expressing lyrical simplicity and single-hearted love in contrast with the atmosphere of hypocrisy, jealousy, double-dealing, and feuding in the medieval Florence of Puccini's only comedy
lol I presume the singers are promotion, the corresponding ad break after Lana and Sam's date had a Jamie Lawson album promotion.

It's huge for a stable and long term relationship, but you need attraction to nurture connection/chemistry.
The aim of the show is entertainment and the chasing phase, the actual fundamentals of a relationship aren't really expressed on the Bachelor lol.

Sam, from my observations, values attractions first and foremost, I'm not judging because that's mostly how I operate as well but you sort of have to have an even amount of both.
That's why a lot of the girls he's eliminated didn't get many or any dates, he didn't click with them and wasn't interested in 'getting to know' them.

With Sarah, she's just got so many others competing and her personality can be easily overshadowed by others because she's so subtle.
But I think she's lovely, the fact that she's so kind to pretty much everyone in that house has left a lasting impression.
I suspect she'll have a long line of suiters after the show ends.

Subtle, good description.
