Here's my lot. All rescues - like pjac's Charlie, Mintie was found abandoned at work when she was about 6 weeks old; the others were strays that were found by friends who just knew I'd take them in!

It was not really an option after caring for him for a few hours. We lost our heart to him. Must say my heart sank when the nurse said that he may not survive. I guess I was stuck to him after that. I was determined he was going to survive. LOL.

I was so worried about going to church one Sunday morning because Charlie would wake up hungry and I wasn't going to be there. I was seriously thinking of either just taking him into church with me or taking him to crèche so I would be nearby when he woke up. Fortunately he woke up just in time for a good feed just before we were going out - and we hot footed it back home as soon as the service was done. hahaha. But he was definitely worth it. He is probably the most spoilt cat in the world but we love him so much.

@Inigo Montoya we do have a bowl out for him and our other beautiful cat Middie but he just puts his nose up at it.

I have a plaque hanging up at home: Dogs have masters ..... Cats have staff. That pretty much describes our house.

Where did Charlie come from. We think perhaps a bird may have picked him up and the dropped him when he got too heavy. We will never really know and we never did find his mum.

Charlie is now part of our family - a big, heavy, fluffy and mischievous member of our family. BTW, Charlie does not drink out of a bowl - he leads us to the bathrooms and we have to run the shower for him so he can have a drink. Hahaha.

I'm the same when I go out someone has to be here to look after my furbabies.I also have a wild weaver bird,we rescued him in 2003 and I hand reared him and fed him worms and taught him how to eat seed,over 10 years later and he is still with us.Oh and we still have him BTW not because I make a habit of keeping wild animals but because he cannot fly..he hops but has never been able to fly

Yeah - I really love the idea of caring for the rescues. I know of another lady who has about 7 cats at home - all rescues - once people in your area know that you will take them in you just seem to get more.

Another lady I know also had some rescue kittens - her husband found them in the lot at work. She de-flead them and after coddling and cuddling them for a few weeks she advertised them free on GumTree and found good homes for them.

Keep up the great work.

Oh she is, we love her. Only got her a few months ago, she is 20 months, previous owner didn't want her anymore :(. She is like family, we love her so much, I have so many pics of her on my phone lol

I love Milo!! Butty had a problem with her kidneys as well but luckily didn't need a drip. She did have to have antibiotic pills for a week which was a helacious experience for my husband and Butty and I. She is NOT a good pill taker! Hahaha!!

So now they are on special urinary cat food. Casper eats it as well since he is her kitten we thought he might have the same kidney problem. Besides he is a Fatty McButterpants and eats her food as well half the time.

And Casper follows me around as well. He's the most dog like cat I have ever seen.
