I don't really think I like this, I don't think it is particularly flattering. It makes her look older than she is and a bit pudgey in the face, which she is certainly not.

See, that's my problem with the detestable couple that I know many of you quite like and I don't. He's a foppy wimp and she's a dim cow - but onward.
Problem I have is that tampon conversation - tampons dangle over their heads, from her hats, and he has them as cufflinks - Mr & Mrs Tampon, make them a crown of tampons, yuck, I just cannot get over that, he wants to be a tampon image.
Be careful, Sticky could photoshop this, and poor Medusa would never get the image out of her head.

Oh dear, don't like this. She has no sparkle in her eyes and does look older than she should. Yuk!

Yeah the more I look at it the less I like it. There is something quite hard about it, especially in the eyes. It is not an appealing face in the portrait but in photo's and on tape, she looks like she'd be a very likeable person. The artist has totally missed something that usually comes across in other media.

The pic was originally posted on the British Monarchy fb page http://www.facebook.com/TheBritishMonarchy?ref=stream (you'll have to be logged in to fb to see it, I think) and the general consensus from the comments there are much the same as the comments here. It doesn't seem like it's a popular likeness. There were only a couple of comments there when I posted it, now there are a couple of hundred. They are mostly saying it's horrible, not like her and lacks spirit, so it's not just us who thinks that.

...she does look a tad bit older in that painting doesn't she?... you ladies are right... well to save the artist doing another one of her in 40 years time I've done it for him lol!... she now has wrinkles... bags under her eyes... her eyelids have sagged... she also now has blotches... jowls... wrinkled lips...greyer hair and is even more podgier in the face... welcome to old age Kate... cheers.
