I must be missing something. Why is that raunchy? And yes I agree, it does look like the current Earl Spencer. Is that a bottle of JW on the window sill? Maybe that was the problem?

The photo looks like it was taken a year or so before she hooked up with Charles, she only looks about 17 or 18 years old. And yes, it's not raunchy at all, just a girl laying down with her brother kind of leaning on her, perfectly normal sibling behaviour.

...methinks that you're right on the money there wynter... someone may have considered that it looked like she may have been endorsing Johnnie Walker or something?... was she under age at the time?... perhaps it was a combination of both... who knows?... it was probably one of the straight-laced pompous pumped up hanger-ons that called themselves a 'royal advisor' that vetoed the photo and deemed it 'unfit to be associated with a lady' type of thing way back then that labelled it 'raunchy'... what do you think?... cheers.

I like the way they say its not to be published, shown on telly and all. what not published we have seen it. nought wrong the it.

This pic was deemed too raunchy to publish a few days before ?or after Dianna became engaged to Charles.

It's not Charles Spencer...but I still can't see anything wrong with it. The Daily Mirror got a bit carried away, I think.

"THE mystery man in the controversial photo of Princess Diana now being auctioned in the US, has finally been revealed as a former student at Oxford University.

The man has been identified as Adam Russell, the great-grandson of former Tory prime minister Stanley Baldwin.

Mr Russell is seen in the photograph with a very young, 18-year-old Lady Diana Spencer, relaxing with the future Princess of Wales on a group ski holiday in Val Claret in the French Alps in 1979.

The Daily Mirror bought the photo two days after Diana's engagement to Prince Charles was announced in February 1981. At the time, they wrote NOT TO BE PUBLISHED in crayon on it.

As an Oxford student, he is said to have had a "galumphing" crush on Diana.

But nothing ever occurred romantically between them, according to royal author Andrew Morton.

The famous royal reporter and Diana biographer said Mr Russell went travelling for a year, and when he returned to the UK in 1980 and told a friend that he liked Diana, he was told: "You've only got one rival, the Prince of Wales', The Daily Mail reports.

He did not chase her. Instead they stayed friends.

Mr Russell later said he got to know her and liked her when both were injured skiing.

He found her "bubbly, giggly, but not in a vacuous way, and lacking in self-confidence".

Mr Russell is now a deer farmer in Dorset and married to gardening expert and TV presenter Ali.

ABC News in the US reports today that Mr Russell has confirmed he was the man in the photo with Princess Diana, but declined to comment further.

The picture shows Diana lying on a bed in a chalet with Mr Russell, who is resting his book on her shoulder, near a bottle of Johnnie Walker whiskey.

The identity of the photographer is not known.

The new photo has been put up for auction by RR Auction, with bidding starting at $US200 running from Jan. 17-Jan 24, 2013.

The New Hampshire-based auction house describes the certifiably authentic black and white photo on its website:

"Teenage image of the future princess emphatically labeled "not to be published"

"Uncommon early 10 x 8 glossy news photo of a young Diana lying in bed, with a young man seated behind her, and a bottle of Johnnie Walker sitting on the window sill.

"Stamped February 1981 on back, the image is clear. The image has crop lines and 'Not to be published' handwritten on the front. Note on back, otherwise light wear. A super early image quite possibly never seen by the public. RR Auction COA."

The Daily Mirror bought the photo ...

well that explains the "not to be published" bit... there's not enough tits or raunchy sexy bits going on for the Mirror to want to use it

The Queen is to gift one of her most charming properties to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as they prepare to welcome their first child.
She is reportedly making plans to hand over Anmer Hall, in Norfolk, to the royal couple.
The late Georgian country house sits in the grounds of the Sandringham estate and is just two miles east of the Queen's Sandringham House.

The Duke spent much of his childhood holidays exploring the Grade II listed house, which has been part of the estate since 1898, and its grounds and has fond memories of the mansion house.
A royal source told the Daily Telegraph: 'The house has been earmarked for William and Kate'.
Anmer Hall, which between 1972 and 1990 was lived in by the Duke and Duchess of Kent, is currently leased to James Everett, who owns a kitchen and timber company, until 2017.

OMG...........the visuals!!! :(

...um... have I gone too far again?... lol!... trouble is... my artistic mind can actually visualise those images to the point where I could do oil paintings of them!:( :( :( :( :( ... my eyes!... my eyes!... cheers.

See, that's my problem with the detestable couple that I know many of you quite like and I don't. He's a foppy wimp and she's a dim cow - but onward.
Problem I have is that tampon conversation - tampons dangle over their heads, from her hats, and he has them as cufflinks - Mr & Mrs Tampon, make them a crown of tampons, yuck, I just cannot get over that, he wants to be a tampon image.:)
