Camila's been raiding the Queen's wardrobe - right down to the "brooch on left shoulder"

Zara(?) looks like she married the bouncer from the local pub...

or maybe not

The ‘Ready to Wear’ version of the Temperley Aster Flower dress features a boat neckline, metallic embroidery, sheer sleeves, a flared skirt and a pure silk lining. The dress is retailing in Harrods for £1,550.00.

...sometimes it's good to know that the Queen is not always superbly dressed... (I love the hoodie)... and is down to earth like the rest of us... (as in... picks her nose just like we all do)... cheers.

Why the Queen avoids beige

And other regal fashion tricks

STYLE-ICON-660x528.jpg

“I can never wear beige,” Queen Elizabeth II once lamented, “because no one will know who I am.” The comment, attributed by the biographer Robert Hardman, encapsulates a six-decade stealth fashion strategy that has produced an 86-year-old style icon whose look is unabashedly her own.

Uninterested in fashion per se, the young Queen always was conscious that “clothes are part of her armour,” as a royal couturier once put it. Loyal to the late designers Hardy Amies, for tailored daywear, and Norman Hartnell, for evening clothes that paid subtle homage to her host country, she established her pragmatic approach—and signature style—early on. And from the beginning, the five-foot-four monarch’s primary duty has been to her subjects, hence the Easter-egg pastel and gem-bright outfits than can be readily spotted in a crowd. In later years, the hues have grown even bolder, a result of the influence of Angela Kelly, the Queen’s former dresser turned personal assistant. Not a detail is left unobserved. Obligatory matching hats never shadow the sovereign’s face or fly off in the wind; clear plastic umbrellas employed in the rain boast coloured borders cleverly co-ordinated to match her outfit.

Devoid of frippery or fashion faux pas, the Queen’s clothing has become a soothing constant in Britain’s national life—from the practical low-heeled patent pumps and matching prim purse (whose contents still spark rabid speculation) to her sturdy brogues, tweed skirts and head scarves tailored to tramping across the moors.

Yet flashes of personality emerge—as seen in an enduring fondness for showy shoes like the Roger Vivier-designed ruby-studded kidskin pumps worn at her coronation or the sparkly brooches she rocked decades before Michelle O did. “Fashions fade, style is eternal,” Yves Saint Laurent famously said. He wasn’t talking about the sovereign who wisely avoids beige, but he could have been.

...NO!... Harry isn't doing that!!!!... his tongue isn't poking out!!!... (although I wouldn't put it past him lol!)... don't worry... I had to look twice too... cheers.

What is going on with her teeth

I know the gold is probably worth bazillions but it's not a good look.

...I'm guessing that if you scraped off the multitude of layers of makeup off of her face her teeth would probably look pearly white... as I say... just a guess... cheers.

Elephants, elephants, ellies - everywhere.....I have an elly/elephant obsession, have done ever since I was a kid.

And oh my goodness, I picked up an elephant thing that looks just like those above except mine don't have little blue saddles.

Got it at an op shop, draped it around my neck to show my sis and she fell over laughing, it's a bit much even as a belt.

And how freaky when your skin is whiter than your teeth......Lizzie looks pretty good when you compare

Well there you go! I would not have even noticed the elephant if you had not pointed it out. So I went looking for why they are wearing it. For those of you as ignorant as me this is what I have found - mind you it was on wiki :o

The Order of the Elephant (Danish: Elefantordenen) is the highest order of Denmark. It has origins in the 15th century, but has officially existed since 1693, and since the establishment of constitutional monarchy in 1849, is now almost exclusively bestowed on royalty and heads of state

...is it me or does Joachim's wife look thinner than Prince Willies beloved Kate?... her head looks too big for her body to me... cheers.
