The Alannah and Madeline Foundation is a national charity protecting children from violence and its devastating effects.

We care for children who have experienced or witnessed violence and run programs which prevent violence in the lives of children. We play an advocacy role and we're a voice against childhood violence.

Great charity choice Boogs, and glad to see you get on board with the plan.

Thanks for this, sparrow. I really like the sound of this organisation. Something that means a lot to me too. Old on boog and the other hm's who support a charity out there and get behind it, irrespective of the money given by Tim.

Edit: Tim is a warm hearted fun loving human being.

but you said she didn't need it

She doesn't. She would have paid for it, and had to give up on not having $500 to use on something else.

you also said she should give it to charity because that was the intention

Yes it would have been more generous to do that, but it's her money to do with as she pleases.

I see Tim has achieved his plan.

Yes, he is giving away $10,000 to charity and HMs who may or may not even like him.

I feel sorry for Jasmine, Tahan and any of the others who will be humiliated and torn to shreds on social media thanks to Tim.

Yes, people make choices and they are responsible for their decisions. Oh and poor HMs who have to put up with anonymous haters writing crap about them. It's not like they can just block/ignore them- or can they? Someone should look into that, think I might be onto something there.

Well done Tim, Merry Xmas.

Yes, well done Tim for giving away $10,000 to charity and people who may or may not even like you. Merry Christmas indeed! Truly a generous act.

Who the fuck are you to say she does or doesn't need the money. She said she needs the money. PERIOD

Just for some background, this foundation was started by the father of Alannah and Madeline who were killed in the Port Arthur massacre. He also lost his wife the same day.

Great organisation.

I am Australia. I provide dole, rental assistance and other welfare to my citizens if they REALLY need it. That's who the fuck I am. Thanks for asking- hahaha.

Wow Tony Abbott is here, I would have thought you could have come up with a more creative name Tony. How much does Jazz have in her bank account Tony?

but you said she didn't need it
you also said she should give it to charity because that was the intention
since she needed it I am happy she got it, though due to the public "game" she had to endure the harassment on social media

what has that got to do with anything. She doesn't need it. It may come in handy but if he didn't make the offer she wouldn't have it either...you keep banging on about his offer being a cruel game and poor housemates. Pigs arse. They could always give it as intended, or if they choose to keep it it's up to them. Not tims fault.

Still, at least she is appreciative of his offer and not berating him for his generosity.

as it should be, if she needs it she should be able to keep it without scrutiny and she should be thankful and she is

That is just ridiculous, no one has been humiliated, Jazz thanked Tim for what she got and Tahan was laughing about the negative tweets she got and Tim tweeted her he was sorry about that and she said thanks Timmy but no big deal.

Get a life.

Tim has helped a ton of people this Christmas season, who have you helped?

Hope you enjoy your Christmas, rolling in your hatred. Good freaking grief.

gasp...i think i just got a girl crush on you!

smart AND feisty!!

i just got chills!!!

thanks for the information, now that you have said this i remember those girls well....good on ya boogs

I didn't even know about this foundation. Glad to see the money being used to help others
Alannah & Madeline & their mother were victims at Port Arthur - their father (and husband) started the foundation in their name and it's wonderful to see it still continues helping others in need. :)

My philosophy on giving gifts of any kind...

A true gift is the one given without the giver attached to it. If I give someone a vase and do so expecting they will display it, I am attaching myself and my expectations to the gift. I am therefore not truly giving. A true gift has no such strings. It is not given with any expectation of being used, worn, displayed, eaten or spent in a particular way. There may be hope, but no expectation, and certainly no disappointment or judgement if it is not. A true gift originates in the desire to give, not in the desire to see one’s self or worth reflected in that gift’s use. Give freely and in abundance with grace and humility.

Have a wonderful Christmas all... Cheers from stinking hot Nth Qld!

I may not agree with what you ae getting at in terms of tim giving the hms money, but I'm wishing you a mere y Christmas all the way from a gloomy day in Sydney. Enjoy yourself with those that make smile :)

well you think it is your place to tell tim what to do with his money. HIS money. So don't get so aggressive.

you ought to take some reading comprehension classes
and listening classes too he said they could keep it or donate it you are the one that insisted on what he really meant and that they had to donate it LoveBB wrote a very eloquent definition of the term gift you should read it

read your own words, you have done nothing but whinge about the way tim offered money. Do what you want with your money. And getting all aggressive towards anyone who doesn't agree with you is not a good look. Don't pretend to be on board with what lovebb wrote, it is a lovely sentiment, but anyone who can spew forth bitter words and spiteful names towards someone who is giving to others shows you don't care at all for the definition of giving, or the act of giving. You are fooling no one.
