Thanks for this, sparrow. I really like the sound of this organisation. Something that means a lot to me too. Old on boog and the other hm's who support a charity out there and get behind it, irrespective of the money given by Tim.

Edit: Tim is a warm hearted fun loving human being.

Yes, people make choices and they are responsible for their decisions. Oh and poor HMs who have to put up with anonymous haters writing crap about them. It's not like they can just block/ignore them- or can they? Someone should look into that, think I might be onto something there.

Just for some background, this foundation was started by the father of Alannah and Madeline who were killed in the Port Arthur massacre. He also lost his wife the same day.

Great organisation.

I am Australia. I provide dole, rental assistance and other welfare to my citizens if they REALLY need it. That's who the fuck I am. Thanks for asking- hahaha.

It may come in handy but if he didn't make the offer she wouldn't have it either...you keep banging on about his offer being a cruel game and poor housemates. Pigs arse. They could always give it as intended, or if they choose to keep it it's up to them. Not tims fault.

Still, at least she is appreciative of his offer and not berating him for his generosity.

as it should be, if she needs it she should be able to keep it without scrutiny and she should be thankful and she is

Alannah & Madeline & their mother were victims at Port Arthur - their father (and husband) started the foundation in their name and it's wonderful to see it still continues helping others in need. :)

My philosophy on giving gifts of any kind...

A true gift is the one given without the giver attached to it. If I give someone a vase and do so expecting they will display it, I am attaching myself and my expectations to the gift. I am therefore not truly giving. A true gift has no such strings. It is not given with any expectation of being used, worn, displayed, eaten or spent in a particular way. There may be hope, but no expectation, and certainly no disappointment or judgement if it is not. A true gift originates in the desire to give, not in the desire to see one’s self or worth reflected in that gift’s use. Give freely and in abundance with grace and humility.

I may not agree with what you ae getting at in terms of tim giving the hms money, but I'm wishing you a mere y Christmas all the way from a gloomy day in Sydney. Enjoy yourself with those that make smile :)

read your own words, you have done nothing but whinge about the way tim offered money. Do what you want with your money. And getting all aggressive towards anyone who doesn't agree with you is not a good look. Don't pretend to be on board with what lovebb wrote, it is a lovely sentiment, but anyone who can spew forth bitter words and spiteful names towards someone who is giving to others shows you don't care at all for the definition of giving, or the act of giving. You are fooling no one.
