Masterchef 2023 - Series discussion

I'm going to miss tonight's episode as I'll be doing a last minute binge of Schitts Creek on my nieces shared Netflix account before it's stopped tonight!

Yeah, some seriously stupid decisions there.
Mussels aren't going to appeal to everyone, and 'bearding' them is time-consuming and fiddly.

I did find it funny when we saw about 25 people in the crowd, and the contestants were like "there are thousands of people to feed!".

Gosh, it's slightly weird watching this season, for a very obvious reason, Andy and Mel and that whole production crew must still be in complete shock!
Getting back to the actual episodes - I quite like the format this year, starting off with 18 contestants instead of 24 and avoiding the audition episodes that Gary, George and Matt used to inflict on the viewers. Another innovation I like is the winning team in the team challenges getting to cook off for immunity - extra incentive to do well.
They all are likeable contestants, as always, although Cath is a bit over the top.
Declan, Robbie and Theo and Alice are my favourites so far.

This challenge is really turning out to be a blessing and a curse. Too many over cooked meats.

And I'm not sure about a Japanese and Mexican fusion? Doesn't sound tasty to me...

I really want to eat Theo's food! Especially his bread.

Oh, oh Rhiannon.

Brent, judges liked it but I have no inclination to eat it at all.Like Andy, I hate too much chilli and I don't eat duck.

Antonio, yay!

Alice, I'd like to eat that too.

Missed the next one?

Ralph, yay! Looks good!

Malissa, pasta looks gluggy and it is. Oh,oh!

Amy, oh, oh but no surprise to me.

Grace, Yay! I'd love to eat her dish too!

Kath, just ok?

Phil, ok or not?

Adi, pretty good.

Robbie, *fingers crossed*....Yay Robbie!
