Masterchef 2012

I've always thought that George makes it pretty obvious his favourites are always the bubbly young single girls. They are the ones he's always calling to help on Fri nights..or he calls them for taste testing. He never grills them either like he grills some of the other contestants, he always has a smile and a joke for the pretty ones. This year it is Mindy and Kylie. Last year it was Elly and Dani, the year before that was Sharnie. I get the impression the George was one of those kids whom the girls never took any notice of at school and now he's making up for it by playing the popular kid.
 
Did anyone notice during during last nights show that up on the balcony Audra and Amina were wearing the same top, it was distinctive, white with orange and teal circle type patterns, we even rewound to make sure it was bizarre.
 
Didn't notice that.

I did notice that when they were picking teams, Wade was unecessarily mean to Debra. She isn't my favourite either, but to so blatantly NOT choose her out of the 2 people left was a bit cruel.
 
I noticed the matching tops, mainly because they were both hideous.

I know it is mean but I get so excited when oh so perfect Julia screws everything up, her face is gold and the fact that she absolutely cannot accept that she has done anything wrong. You can keep your silly half and half cake too.

Another gold face last night was Mindy's when they announced that the blue team had the top 2 dishes of the day, she dropped her head and tilted towards Julie a bit and did the best death stare ever.
 
Well I really hope one of their faves gets the boot, Mindy would do her smugness, 50 million beautifuls, and teacher's pet kissup is shitting me.
Not one of the yellows should be up for elimination - or here is an idea make the rest all cook in that garage with no oven
 
I didn't really see it as that much of a disadvantage, it was on par with the quality of the blue team kitchen I thought. We have an oven the same as the Blue team house and it is SHI* The yellows had more room than the blues and a bbq and a smoking oven - I think they were expecting someone to use it not cook a cake in it.

Julia screwed up by demanding that she get to use the oven for her cake IMO.

I noticed the beautiful's last night too LOL
 
I didn't really watch much last night as I was cooking our dinner I got to sit and see the tasitng and judging.

I would be happy for Julia to go. That cake/pudding she made, I don't believe it was meant to turn out like that.

tonight I just hope that we lose an expendable, we still have plenty of those I think.
 
Noooooo not Julia I love her and her no nonsense ways. Heaps of rubbish people left to dump before her.
And sorry - yellow were extremely disadvantaged.
2 hotplates (rest had stove tops with 4), and a thing they have never seen before that is supposed to work like an oven.
 
I don't think anyone was supposed to use it as an oven though, I think the whole point was so they would use it as what it is intended for, smoking stuff. Like at the first house they had a herb garden so you were expected to use that, house 2 had all spcies and fresh market stuff.

Also did the rest of the family members get to enjoy any of the meals or was it all just MC nonsense again? Same 4 people stuffed 4 meals in and everyone else went hungry? Bit sad.
 
Not thrilled with last night's result but not devo either. Silly Tregan did it to herself really.

Who gave Julia the Dessert Queen nickname because it is a big fat lie. I have not seen anything spectacular from her apart from Melting Moments which was not a special recipe but a very common one. Audra has done far better mouth watering desserts and it isn't even her forte.
 
Same here ichi. Tregan wasn't one of my favourites but I didn't necessarily want her to go over the other two.

As for favourites, for me it's only Audra and Amina who stand out.
 
Sorry kxk, but her smuggness annoys me. My youngest daughter likes her - because she is young, blonde and pretty :-)

I was not surprised to see Treagan go last night, and based on each round she was the obvious choice (except for Alice in round one with that salad).
 
I find Mindy the most smug female. Julia is just a straight shooter. I love beautiful girls who don't use femine wiles.

I think she gave the name to herself. I've heard the other contestants talk about the dessert queen several times but they're not talking about Julia, they're talking about Kylie. Just in the last team challenge Wade said he was choosing the dessert queen for his team..and he was talking about Kylie, not Julia. But yes, I agree. I haven't seen any really spectacular desserts come from anyone this year.
 
Top two on my list to go is Deb first and then Alice. Both of them are really annoying me. I was hoping one or the other was going to be out last night.

I did wonder last night if she regretted her tattoos. They're so messy. There's no overall pattern. They just look like she got bored and doodled all over her arm with a biro during maths class.
