Last movie you saw

great special effects at the end, but still the depths of Bond as a bad comedy.
And this was the time of Bond Girls. A big marketing push that recruited dozens of women to appear awkwardly for 5 seconds.

I know but I still cant' get over the names...... They really cut it close with some of them, a fact that the Austin Powers movies made fun of.

Moonraker was just a little too OTT for my liking with space marines and laser guns . It was a bit of a 'jump the shark' moment for Bond.

My all time favourite Bond movies

You only live twice
The spy who loved me
Thunderball
Diamonds are forever
License to Kill
Goldeneye
Tomorrow never dies
The world is not enough

I love the Lotus underwater car because they really did build that and it worked, though in real life the cabin was not pressurized and the driver had to wear full diving gear. Other then that the car actually did work.

I assume you know Office Space and Idiocracy were both done by the same guy yeah?
Love both the films. Apparently he had an idea for an Office Space sequel but thought in this day and age with shows like the office it would come off too much as unoriginal. Which I think is a shame.

Idoicracy is brilliant though, although definitely not for everyone's taste in humour. From my experience some people just don't get the joke and the humour. People who will say it was all so dumb. Or there's people who like it and don't get the joke, just love the silly nature of the humour. With the film going over their heads.

Apparently the studio basically sabotaged the film from being successful when they saw what it was. Cutting the budget dramatically and basically cancelling it's release. Well they then released it in very few cinemas with no advertising. Robert Rodriguez SPX house actually donated a bunch of special effects to get the film finished.

I think it's a case of, people can't handle the truth about society.

I re-watched the ghostbusters films a few years back. As a kid liked them but yeah they were alright but not great or anything. Seemed the kind of short and quick no depth kind of films. Entertaining but yeah dated.

Apparently they are still trying to get a third off the ground, but Bill Murray really doesn't want to do it.

Yeah, Mike Judge. I've not been able to get into his other stuff, namely Beavis and Butthead and King Of The Hill. Should probably give them another chance.

I can see why some people might not like Idiocracy. It's definitely not everyone's thing. I thought it was pretty obvious that it's a social satire, and actually quite intelligent with such a "dumb" subject matter. And yeah, I read about the distribution problems the film had. It's such a shame because it's a really great film but it's nice to see it's sort of attained cult status since its release.

I'm not sure I would want an Office Space sequel. I thought everything wrapped up quite nicely. And like you said, it probably would come across as unoriginal nowadays. It reminded me a lot more of the British version of The Office than the US version actually, in that it focussed on the most mundane aspects of everyday work life with characters that weren't over the top in their eccentricity. Milton was the best. Lumbergh would be a much more irritating boss than David Brent. I wanted to punch his face in half the time he was on screen, Mmm Great, yeah.

A Ghostbusters 3 would be very cool, as long as the original cast were back and it wasn't made purely as a cash cow. It'd be really cool to see ghosts and stuff with decent CGI too, because the first film especially looks so dated as it was made during the early days of computer generated special effects.
Is Office Space the movie where they massacre a poor printer because is annoying someone? because I heard about this movie where a printer gets murdered because the operator was frustrated.....

And idiocracy what's that about?

Yeah that's the movie. That's one of my favourite scenes too, partly in thanks to the music used in it. Damn it feels good to be a gangsta.

And in a nutshell: Idiocracy is about a dude (Luke Wilson) and a lady (Maya Rudolph) who are part of an Army experiment in which they were put into hibernation for what was meant to be one year, but they ended up being in the coma for 500 years, and awake in a future where everyone is really stupid. It's a lot of fun.

I'm watching Moonraker right now.
James Bond is a total man-whore.

I've always thought Moonraker was quite underrated, as are Roger Moore's films in general. Yeah, it's cheesy and completely unrealistic (even in the world of Bond) but it's just so entertaining. The Man With The Golden Gun is another favourite of mine too. Roger Moore was great damn it.

I've seen the changeling, it's good but then I watched it as a mother, and it's about a mother... so I don't know if that meant I would relate better, lol.

Hey for anyone that knows the comics which version of Supergirl is this? I have a pile of her stuff from the 80's and her skirt looks like a tight netball skirt......

I just watched "Just like Heaven" with Reece Withersppon.
I really liked it. It was a chick flick but the males of the house watched it and were very quiet during the soppy bits. lol
It made me go awwwwwwwwww.....

Does the original Karate Kid really end as abruptly as it did when it was shown last night?
The Kid wins his last fight using the standing on one leg trick... the doucebag shakes his hand "Well done", and then *Buh Buh Baaaa* Sony-Tristar logo. No credits. The end.

Great movie though. I've never seen it before, but it deserves it's reputation.

It is cute. The fact that Mark Ruffalo is in it also helps. :D

I remember Just Like Heaven being quite decent, and that's coming from someone who generally dislikes predictable rom coms. It had a cool kind of twist to it that I enjoyed.

No idea but it didn't need a remake

cant remember, but i dunno, maybe they cut the Credits out....

i agree Mud- when films are remade, they always change crucial parts of the story that are good. like having a black kid, set in china not america, and now its kung fu and not Karate. automatically i can tell its gonna suck

I'm actually interested in seeing the new Karate kid now.
From the trailers, a lot of the core ideas of the old movie are in there. I doubt I'll see it in the movies, but when it's in Video Ezy, I'll give it a look.

I wouldn't pay to see it I'll wait for the DVD and hire it.

I bought KK on Friday because my man wanted to watch it but there were too many double ups on Sunday night and to answer your question, yes it does end that abruptly.

He wins, he gets the trophy, the end.

It is a 2 hour movie w/out ads.

Saw Toy Story 3 with my boyfriend, it was wonderful. I wasn't the biggest fan of Pixar or CGI movies in general but Toy Story 3 had the perfect ending to a near perfect trilogy. 9/10 (P.S. both me and my boyfriend got teary at the end, just don't let him know i said that)

Sonia - I totally agree. Who woulda thought toys could make you cry, huh? The ending was awesome.
