Last movie you saw

What I want to know is how people think up crazy shit like that...... I'm avoiding this movie too

The Human Centipede sounds weird. Not scary, just sick and weird.

I have absolutely zero desire to watch a movie about people having their mouths sewn to other people's bumholes.

Sorry.

Apparently it was some kind of personal joke that some how got into the concept. Maybe started with shit eating grin or, eat shit or something. Then they thought, lets make a film!

The film isn't really disgusting. It's just low budget and kind of eh.. ok whatever. It's not worth watching, but if you're drinking. Eh why not.

The A Team

A big action film, with a great cast, playing good characters that didn't make much sense or try to. Some of it is ridiculous you have to wonder how it looked on the page and how they ever thought it'd work. It's a big fun action film, set in a kind of parallel fantasy world where this kind of insane stuff can happen. It's been a couple weeks and I still have Liam Neeson saying, "I love it with a plan comes together" in my head. And The guy from district 9 is quite insane and hilarious.
Not for everyone for sure, but if you want a film which doesn't sell you short for content. If people have noticed this is one of my demands from films. Often films sell you short. They feel like they went 3/4s the lenth of a movie. Stuff lacking. This isn't one of them. It's a big solid action film that is just having fun with it. Reality is for suckers!

Daybreakers on DVD
It was ok for a film made in Australia. It didn't have an Australian film feeling about it, few characters were pointless and they completely re-written the rules of vampires. But for a fun action vampire flick it was good
6/10

I found this just... eh amateurish. The score was terrible, the cinematography and direction was bland or was try hard and there was no atmosphere. With a better set of talent behind it, it could have been a decent b grade film. In the end I found it dull and boring. Mainly from execution rather than the b grade plot.

Yet the critics disagree and Hollywood seems to like the two guys that made it ... I thought it boring and unoriginal in parts because this was essentially what vampires were doing in Blade 2 and 3

Just got back from seeing Toy Story 3.

It's awesome. If you have little kids, there are a few quite dramatic parts where the toys are in danger and if they are particularly easily frightened kids they might get scared. It's the best movie I have seen in ages. Every bit as good, if not better than 1 & 2 - and for a third movie in a series - that's really unusual.

^^ Did you see it in 3D or just normal emcee? Miss 4 is begging to go & see a movie & I don't know if the 3D versions will make us go cross eyed or if they are OK?

The cinema I went to was screening it in 3d and in normal. As I wear glasses, I wasn't keen to see it in 3d - so went to the normal session. There are just as many normal sessions as 3d sessions, so it was cool.

Thanks emcee. I was thinking it might be a bit annoying in 3D & miss 4 would be soo devo if she couldn't "see" the movie properly. I'm still tossing up between toy story & shrek:)

See both!

I wanna see shrek before it goes out of the cinemas, but today Toy Story won out.

I wish!!!! I can only ask every-so-often for the bubba to be baby-sat. There is no way he would be still or quiet for a whole movie!

Doghouse on DVD

Another Brit zombie film, not as funny as Shaun of the Dead, but on par with Lesbian Vampire Killers. A bunch of guys go on a weekend boozer in some town out in the woods, and soon they discover the town is crawling with women zombie's who are only after male flesh.

Some funny bits in it, but no real storyline or plot, just enjoy the ride.
5.5/10

You ever see the Blade TV series? It was pretty decent, too bad it didn't last.

Blade 2 is a really good film, blade 3.... eh I think i only saw it the once. Maybe watched the odd 10 minutes here and there on foxtel.

The Slammin' Salmon

The most recent film from Broken Lizard. The guys behind, Super Troopers, Club Dread and Beerfest. Personally of all their films Beerfest is my favourite. I know everyone else loves Super Troopers and it is good and what got them on the map, but Beerfest is just funny and completely re-watchable over and over again.
This latest film is probably the weakest of these 4. Although I haven't seen Club Dread for a while and more than twice. So these two are more the tie for bottom two. Still that isn't bad at all. These guys are funny and they know what works. Actually generally with a film like The Slammin' Salmon is the flaw is lack of more idea's than bad ideas. Mostly everything works, although it's just limited to the concept.
It's set in a restaurant, basically all in one night with the waiters competing to make the most money. So right off the bat it's limited, but it still remained constantly entertaining and funny through out. No dull spots, no jokes falling flat or really anything negative to say, except they didn't do more, although I don't know what more would be. So yeah, i wasn't blown away, but i laughed and I enjoyed the film. Honestly it is better than most comedy these days purely from the fact it's all funny. Nothings worse than films that are meant to be funny getting dull, trying too many poorly written/not funny jokes or letting plot get in the way of jokes. What these guys do best is, generally they rarely if at all miss on a joke and they never let their films get dull.
They make films to be funny entertainment and they succeed on that.

For those that don't know Broken Lizard, it's hard to say what i'd recommend. Maybe just watch in order from Super Troopers. If you didn't really like it, skip to Beerfest and try that.

Super Troopers a comedy about highway patrol men.

Most people probably have seen this one.

Club Dread a horror comedy set in a resort.

Beerfest a bunch of american's who stumble into the underground world of international beer drinking competitions at october fest and then train to try and take the championship the next year. It's way better than that sounds.
Here's the trailer

I'd post the Slammin' Salmon one but frankly it's a bad trailer.
so here's just a short clip of a character who is off his meds

Just don't know how much these guys are cult comedy film makers, how well known they actually are besides super troopers.

I watched Toy Story & Toy Story 2 last night. I think I'm in the minority but I much prefer Toy Story 2. Both are great, obviously, but the second is a lot funnier and has a wider array of locations, characters, etc.

Yeah definitely. I'm really excited to see it. I'm a bit too poor to go to the movies at the moment though :(

It's every bit as good as the first two. It's the best movie I have seen in ages. Try Cheap Tuesday maybe?
