Last movie you saw

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
It's definitely one of my favourite movies of the last 10 years. Jim Carrey is way underrated in this role and Kate Winslet was absolutely flawless. The direction and Cinematography were just brilliant. Too bad Michel Gondry followed this up with the fairly mediocre Be Kind, Rewind. Ah well, at least I have this film to cherish for the rest of my days.

I love Eternal Sunshine :) But I agree with the Be Kind, Rewind comment. It was watchable, but not great. I did enjoy their "remakes" but that was about it.

Watched Transamerica last night on SBS. I'm not sure whether I liked it or not. But Felicity Huffman was brilliant in it.

I started to watch vicky cristina Barcelona tonight...but GAH...it was just too boring & gave up after about half an hour,

Has anyone seen it...should I watch the rest?

I've never seen a Woody Allen movie that I've liked.

:(

I LOVED

Just saw Into The Wild (directed by Sean Penn, starring Emile Hirsch) on DVD. It's about the life and death of Christopher McCandless aka "Alexander Supertramp", who emancipates himself from his family and society to live a simple life in the Alaskan wilderness. It's a really remarkable story and i think Sean Penn did a really good job with this one. Also includes really breathtaking cinematography.

Profound film. A parable, for introverts like me, who often fantasize about burning bridges to get away from others.

it's sad at the end -- really liked eddie vedder's work on the soundtrack

if you like this you will love grizzly man

I watched a coupla schlock horror films yesterday. Wrong Turn2 - which, though toe curling gross, made me laugh more than cringe, and Kane, See No Evil - as good as you would expect with a WWF guy as the star, which is - not very. He likes to collect eyeballs.

You've got to wonder at the sound effects guys/girls who do these movies. They must really have a bizarre sense of humour.

I just watched Juno. Yes, I know I'm way late to this, but I don't get much time to watch movies anymore. I loved it though. It was funny, sad, poignant and very well done.

Yeah it is a sad ending. I just felt so sad for his family whom he abandoned, especially his sister who was very fond of him and was the only one who really understood him. It must've been hard for the McCandlesses, who invested a lot of time in contributing to the making of the film. And I too, liked Eddie Vedder's work on this..his voice is so haunting and i think it aided in creating that sense of wonder and loneliness. I've not heard of Grizzly Man, might check it out..thanks for the heads up cinderella.

I loved Juno too, DQ. Unlike a lot of my friends who found it weird, I found it to be really funny. Ellen Page is a great actor. And I love Kimya Dawson!

I saw Yes Man. It was actually pretty good. I haven't really been into the latest Jim Carrey movies so I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The dude that plays Norman was the stand out for me.

Spanglish. Sweet, wonderful movie. Every character had such weight and depth. Films like this remind me why I dig through so much slag. Sometimes you hit pay dirt big time.

I'm well and truly over my dislike for Adam Sandler, he was great in the film. I think I used to hate Jim Carey too. I know I definitely hated Steve Martin until I saw Parenthood.

we watched I am Legend on Saturday night. What was the point of that film? It was ****ing shocking.

I want to have a Harry Potter party!

I felt the same way about him until I saw Punch Drunk Love. I prefer Sandler in serious roles more.

I reeeeeally want to see this.

I want to have a Harry Potter party!

read the book ...

its totally different, and much funnier.

the only similarity between the two is the conceptof saying yes, other than that , 100% different..

the guy who plays norman in the movie is also in the flight of the conchords series.

hilarious guy.

Yep - excellent movie. The bloke who played Norman and Zooey Deschanel were fantastic. On that, I think the secret of the film's success was letting the supporting cast have screen time to develop as well rounded characters.

The film, I suspect, was a lot different from the book that inspired it. I'm sure the book is worth a read, but the film really worked as a piece of entertainment.

Argh, I want to see it so bad! We used to have a card where we could go to the movies for $4.50, but we can't use it anymore so now I've gotta pay the whole $10.
