I hear ya, but they know the positive and negative things people say about them. Hell, Nick had that whole exchange on Instagram with someone going after Ed. People have gone after Nick for his comments, very passionately. I don't believe for a second Nick has never discussed the vitriol he's received because of the blog. And, I can't accept Ed reads all the negative stuff except those related to his family's blog.

I hear ya, but they know the positive and negative things people say about them. Hell, Nick had that whole exchange on Instagram with someone going after Ed. People have gone after Nick for his comments, very passionately. I don't believe for a second Nick has never discussed the vitriol he's received because of the blog. And, I can't accept Ed reads all the negative stuff except those related to his family's blog.
Oh for sure he knows people are trashing him about Jade and whatnot and I also believe Nick probably mentioned the hate he copped for the blog. But I'm thinking if he'd known the contents of the deleted posts and that Nick had been busted for deleting them so it didn't just slip by the public unnoticed, why would he bring it up again when no one has talked about the issue for weeks now? Nothing good could come of that and since I can't figure out how he could possibly benefit by posting something so inflammatory, I just don't buy that he knew what those posts said.

Honestly, even if they said nothing bad, the timing is suspect. Thank them privately for the kind words, and be done with it. All I can think is the people who are just watching it now might have triggered the post. If he didn't know what was said before, (and I'm doubting it) judging by the comments on his picture, he should at least be asking Nick what was said, and deleted. Personally, I'd be VERY upset if the people closest to me, posted questionable things about someone I became genuine friends with, and didn't give me the heads up. If I was hanging out with a guy, after my sister trashed him publicly, and she never told me, I'd be pissed. Another reason I don't believe he doesn't know. It will be interesting to see if he posts tomorrow.
I seriously don't think there's any possible way that Ed was aware of the deleted blog posts (or at least their content) if he's posted that. If he did his thank you to his siblings/Annie is useless because he's just opened them (and himself) up to a whole lot of criticism. Very stupid. Judging by the comments from people he's going to know now either way either by him looking himself or by Nick/Milly/Annie showing him. It'll be interesting to see if his pic stays there for sure...

It has been a couple of months since he came out of the bb house ,so is it reasonable to think that Ed would have read the blog by now ?The question is,whether he has been told of the contents of the deleted posts.
We have seen through his interactions on social media that he comes from a very close-knit group of friends and family especially his tight bond with his twin brother.So I honestly can't see why they would forget to tell him about those controversial deleted posts.If the posts were deleted before Ed came out of the House then we can say with absolute certainty that he would not have read it.On the balance of probability ,he would have read or at least made aware of those posts.It's also possible that he would have initiated the posts to be deleted.
Why would he bring up the sanitised blog on his instagram ...I don't know?What are his motives behind this..from his perspective.?Was he reminiscing and it did not occur to him to factor in the controversy of the deleted posts?

If it is the sanitised version, could the fact he is publicising it now have anything to do with where the series is up to in NZ? He hasn't touched his twitter since Saturday afternoon, which is unheard of from him. He would usually have at least favourited a heap of tweets from his regulars. Is he maybe getting a heap of tweets from NZ viewers that he thinks the santisied blog might help with??? Although, while he put this on his instagram and FB - he hasn't put it on his twitter, so maybe that isn't it.
I really can't think of why he would resurrect such a controversial piece of best forgotten history that reflects so badly on his family and himself.
Edit - I notice Milly was one of first to comment on the instagram, and is liking the couple of comments on FB that say what a wonderful family and friends he has. Why would she encourage it and not just tell him to delete it? Is Ed now laughing about Jade with his family?My dislike and distrust of this family is bubbling back up to the surface.

I honestly couldn't believe it when I saw that pic Ed posted. Then when I thought about it some more his family were only posting their thoughts on what they and us were seeing and we need to remember they both got some pretty bad edits, not only where their relationship was concerned but with interactions with other housemates.
From memory not all of the blog had bad things to say about Jade, there were elements of positivity included.
There were also many essays written by Greg Miller and some others and it probably would have been better if they just got rid of the comments and left the blog to stand how it was and have a family discussion on their thoughts at the time of writing. After all he is the only one that can tell them whether they got it right or wrong.

I think Ed and Nick took a calculated risk.
They want to use this blog for a reason, to promote themselves or whatever it is they are going to be selling. They also know that there are plenty of people who weren't happy with the stuff that was posted there. But if they follow this forum (and I'm 99% sure they do) they know that attitudes towards Ed have become much more accepting. I don't think it's a coincidence that they decided to bring up the elephant in the room at a time when Gemini (and other Jade supporters) decided to get firm about defending Ed from the likes of Greg Miller. What they're counting on is that the posters who are offended on Jade's behalf will go so overboard with their reactions that the rational and calm people will make the family's arguments for them, and then they can just move on as they had always planned to do.
It's a calculated risk and already you see plenty of posts here explaining how Ed cannot possibly know what was really bad about the posts, and [MENTION=38038]missingout[/MENTION]'s post about how it wasn't really all bad and it was the editing. Rational, reasoned responses that will overwhelm the naysayers, who can ultimately be blocked.

I'm sorry, start another webpage. Whatever you have coming up, start another web page. More people are aware of Ed on social media after the show, than the family's blog. So, as far as I can see, there is no need to tie anything they have coming up to it. Put on instagram, or wherever the link to your new site. It's not that hard. If one of my family members went on a show like BB, knowing damn well people come out friends and bonded, I WOULD NOT blatantly attack anyone. These are not idiots we're talking about. Yes, editing is what it is. Just like I'm sure they weren't fond of some of the editing for Ed, they should have applied it to the others. I absolutely think you can give your opinion, on what you are seeing, in a decent way. Being an ass is never necessary.

I can see what you are all saying - and while I haven't minded seeing Ed's updates, the one opinion of him that has not changed is that he is just not that sensitive.. or emotionally mature.

Personally I just think he wanted to highlight the blog in hopes people that hadn't seen it would read it and all the wonderful things about him. It seems to me like he really did just read it for the first time and his first thought was "how awesome do they make me sound? I'm gonna share this so everyone can read it". And either he a) didn't know about the content of the deleted posts (but he bloody should now), or b) he did but just didn't think and realise that most fans were aware of the content of the deleted posts and bringing it up again would cause such a stir. I think Ed is way too image conscious to deliberately bring something up that would result in criticism and rehash old wounds that most fans had probably forgotten about. However him just being an idiot I'd believe. He's done so many things in and out of the house that had be thinking "wtf???"

yes. I always assumed that it was Ed who asked his brother to delete those nasty posts after Jade's first visit to Melbourne.
I think Jade's family would have told her about the blog and she probably questioned Ed about it.

We are not talking about strategic geniuses here. If Nick and the family had been smart, they never would have attacked Jade, because they NEEDED Jade's fans (and it was clear she had many, if they had looked beyond their noses) to help save Ed. They made the wrong assumption that Ed was a victim of Jade's obsession and that by distancing themselves from her AND going on the offensive against Tim, they could make Ed popular. They could not have been more wrong!
What I'm saying is that these are people who generally think in a limited way, without looking at all angles and consequences. They saw that Ed's stock was up, despite his obnoxious following of bikini clad girls and drunken inappropriate behavior back when it was unclear if he and Jade were together. He does a simple deletion of some of that stuff and all seems forgiven. Why would they think this sanitized webpage will be a major issue? The people who object the most vociferously will be reined in by more reasonable people and the whole thing will blow over. End of story.
I just don't think Ed didn't know about the negative Jade posts. It would have had to go out of his way to NOT know about them, since plenty of people brought them up. I just think that he and Nick thought most reasonable people were past that reaction, since Jade and his family are all "friends" now. They figured it would cause a brief stir amongst the most crazy (if that) and then it would move on.
I'm not saying they are right, I'm just thinking that's as much calculating and figuring that these people are capable of.
