I am absolutely certain that Jade and Ed are not a couple so the only reason I would want a public confirmation of that is just to stop all of the idiots who won't just let it die.
I am far more worried about Jade's emotional well being. There is a great difficulty in remaining friends with a person you had strong feelings for, for many reasons. I would think that given the nature of her relationship with Ed, the fact that it was always this nebulous friendship-with-the-possibility-of-more-at-some-future-time-but-let's-just-wait-and-see, Jade may have been left in a place of uncertainty with respect to what their friendship entails going forward. This is especially true if there was no big cause to ending the potential of their relationship, such as it was, just a decision that they weren't right for each other. Given their physical separation, I think it has probably been easy for Jade to just carry on as before, but if she is actually heading to Melbourne, what are the parameters of their friendship? Is she going to stay with him and his roommates? do they have plans to go to tennis together? Will they just casually see each other if there is an informal gathering of BB HMs? how does she introduce him to the hot chef who may be in her vicinity?
Okay, yes that last part is my projection and wishful thinking, but aside from that, I think there's at least a small possibility that the potential of actually seeing Ed may bring up some issues for Jade, even if she's aware that a relationship wouldn't work and she may be reaching for support and to try to normalize things as much as possible.
Or Mikkayla and Nathan were just both struck with Jade-itis. It happens...we should know.

Yeah, I think that it probably is all over with Ed but I have this feeling that she's still a bit hooked on him. I hope that she doesn't come down to Melbourne if this is the case.
HC seems to be a really nice guy and would appear to be interested in her but if she's still got this thing for Ed...
Last week she changed her twitter picture/icon, why didn't she change the instagram one with Ed in it, she had the perfect opportunity to do both at once...surely HC would think this odd?

It could be just general moral support, at least with Nathan. He posts on her FB at times, so he obviously reads it and today the ferals are running riot on her post from this morning. Jade never acknowledges the hate, but did post a separate item about cyber bullying last week, and apologising to her supports for having to read it and thanking them for their kind words. Maybe that is what he has been SMSing her about (just a wild guess).
No idea with Mik, though (easier to blame it on Ed), but could even be in relation to work stuff

And this is where I think this could all be bringing up things for Jade, because I'm sure that if things did end in a motel in Melbourne on a Sunday morning, that they ended not with a bang but with a quiet whimper (maybe because there was no banging going on, but that's a whole different topic.
) So if the decision was "let's be friends" what does that friendship look like? For a while it pretty much looked like what it looked like before an early morning discussion in a motel in Melbourne, but, like you said, it seems like it's changed, at least on Ed's part. Maybe it was the breakup article, maybe it was Ed just not wanting to bother any more, but it's got to be confusing to Jade, unless Ed has spoken to her...hahahaha, okay, that's NOT what happened...lol. Anyway, given that maybe Jade thought they were still going to the Open as friends and maybe that's not happening, maybe Jade is trying to figure out where the friendship stands as much as we are.This is all pure speculation, of course, but it's based somewhat on Jade's handling of relationships as we saw them in the house and on professional and personal experience with changes in relationships. It's still a guessing game, but I can't seem to stop playing!

Motel is a club in Melbourne that they went to (not a motel room, And it is something that happened at or from this clubbing event that I think led to the decision to part). But yeah - the vibe I'm getting is that Jade is reacting to Ed's (and Nick's) social media the same way she does to many other friends - but Ed has just wiped her. This would be very confusing...how does he define friends in comparison to her?

HAHAHA...omg...I've gotten that wrong all along. I thought they were in a motel! Which confused the HELL out of me because I couldn't figure out what had happened in a motel to break them up and why everyone kept mentioning the word motel. When I think of motels, I think of prostitutes, seedy affairs, and drug deals, so I was all...what are they doing in a motel? Why does everyone keep talking about a motel?

Edited to add...I'm so embarrassed that I missed this. How did I not get this? But now I'm wondering because didn't the girl that posted that they broke up say that they actually broke up at a motel? Or did she say they broke up at Motel? and if they broke up at a nightclub, why? That's a very dramatic place to break up at, far more dramatic than I would expect from Ed or Jade. Tully and Drew probably have and will break up and get back together endless times at nightclubs, but neither Ed nor Jade, nor their relationship for that matter, seems that passionate.
My mind will need a few days to rewire...

While motels here can house the seedier side of life, they are also simply accomodation for travellers/holiday makers
That girl said that she met Ed at Motel (the club) and he told her that he and Jade had just broken up (no way of telling how long "just" entailed or where it allegedly happened). We know Jade was at Motel at some stage that night though because she was tagged in a picture.

I think the girl said her cousin was friends with Ed, and was with them at Motel that weekend and that he (the cousin/Ed??) said they broke up on that Sunday.
The comment is unclear if the girl meant that her cousin said that Ed said they broke up or if Ed told her they broke up. I don't think Ed told the girl, because from the instagram comment she was wanting someone (her cousin?) to hook her up with Ed (and he subsequently started to follow her after that). She wouldn't need that if she knew him, and there would have been no need to say that her cousin was friends with Ed and with him that weekend. She would have just said she knew Ed and Ed had told her.

Yeah, motels are that here, too, but the nicer motels are usually called by their names (Best Western, Motel 6, Vagabond Inn) but the "no-tell motels" with their half working/blinking neon signs, pay by the hour, seedy reputation, is the biggest reason why "Inn" is far more popular than "motel" when it comes to that type of accommodation.HAHA - no you're not - it's just different terminology

Seriously, my mind was being blown, because when couples break up in motels there's usually a live boy or a dead girl involved, and I couldn't figure out which it was in this case.
And while I'm joking when I say that, the word was still driving me insane, especially since it kept being repeated and I didn't know why!!
That is how I interpreted it as well. I'd like to find the link again, but that would take me hours. But that is how I remember it.

I've just been scrolling through Ed's favourites because the instagram was attached to a tweet of some girl excited because Ed had opened her snapchat - but I couldn't find it.
I think t come out on the same day as the Palm Beach photo of Jade? Is that right - I think I remember that being an action-packed day
