Jade 2013 Appreciation thread

I hadn't seen this picture before (or I'm going crazy and can't remember seeing it), sorry if it's already been posted!

Hair & make up Jade big brother for GC mag with amazing Elizabethgrinter and gorgeous stylist courtneythorpe_xx

Okay sorry but I REALLY hate her hair and makeup for for GC mag shoot.

I loved the pic that she had posted? From that day. I think she was smiling though. I think was one of the few who defended the makeup, but now looking at the finality of it, I'm not so big on the look either.

Yeah, I liked the pic she posted of the shoot too, but the others not so much. I think it's because her old hair was so light so it makes the red lips look way too much. I've always thought Jade looks a million times better either without it at all or with minimal/understated makeup. I suppose when you're getting the cover of a mag though you just stfu and let them do whatever they want to you. And it looks like they're going for the whole Hollywood glamour look so you need big makeup I guess.

Photoshop doesn't help either though, sometimes they can erase some of the character in your face, but like you said, when you are in front of a magazine, you go with it.

Yep certainly agree re photoshop. Also I have a feeling the head shots we're getting will look 100x better when we see them with the big fancy dresses as well. There were some teaser shots with her wearing the dresses a few pages back and she looked stunning when it was all together.

Yeah definitely, right now it's one huge close up on her face and nothing else, plus front magazine covers are usually enhanced to make everything brighter and bolder. So keep that in mind as well as the gloss from it makes a more chrome look :)

I don't like the makeup either. She doesn't need all that jazz on her face to make her suit the Hollywood glamour look.

I was thinking last night about this after seeing that pic... you know what I'd love to see? A photoshoot of her where they make her look a bit punk. That slicked back hair look that's kind of boofy on top, with edgy makeup and clothes. Maybe a black pant suit with no shirt underneath the jacket but still not showing anything. (I hope I'm explaining this properly.) It's exactly what they did with Jesinta Campbell to show people she was more than the gorgeous pageant queen who only looked good in ball gowns or girlie dresses and after she did it, her career blew up and she started to get proper editorials because it proved how versatile she was. Actually looking through Jesinta's Instagram, I see so many similarities between the two and just keep imagining Jade in the same shoots. She just needs a bit of help.

Quite love that idea! Maybe Drew will like it since Jade used to bag him out in the BBAU house for having a thing for the 'gothic' look lol. Sorry I'm having a missing Drade day, no idea why :(

I'm not a fan of what we've seen so far of the GC mag shoot, especially her make-up. I don't think it does anything for her and certainly doesn't do her justice. I quite like your idea also.

Yeah I wish they could photoshop the heavy eye makeup to make it look less because it's distracting us from Jade's natural beauty.
It would be great if they give her an edgier look just to showcase a versatility in her looks which might help with her acting portfolio. Unfortunately, she probably didn't have a say in the makeup.I guess they wanted the glamour look to match the gowns.I can"t wait to see the full shot.

Thanks declan for posting.Awww that puppy is so adorable,I want one too!

Yeah you're right,it's being pretty quiet here the last two days.

It has been remarkably quiet in here for the past two days. I figured everyone had either gone to Ballina to hang with Jade, left this board to hang with the twitter peeps, or decided it was more fun to hang out with the flesh and blood humans in their lives. Since I live on the other side of the world, can't express thoughts in 144 characters or less, and have no life, I had no idea what to do with myself.

I agree with those who don't love the GC photos that we've seen so far. Maybe I'll change my mind, but I'm not a fan of heavy makeup in general, and certainly not on Jade, who doesn't need it.

Having said that, one thing I'm happy about is the apparent variety of Jade's photo shoots so far. I think they reflect well on her versatility and her ability to convey different moods and emotions. If she has any hope of making the difficult transition from model to working actress, that is a basic necessity.

One critique of Jade was that she didn't embrace the opportunities to entertain while in the house, but I think there is a huge difference between performing and acting. There are some great performers who are also actors (Neil Patrick Harris comes to mind) but I do think it's a hard balance to find. Usually it skews one way or the other. Certainly Carrie Underwood demonstrated last night for 18 million American viewers that having the ability to perform and move people with your music doesn't mean you can act in a musical on live television.

It has been said many times that acting requires the ability of observe, connect, and reflect the experiences and emotions of others. I think Jade has these skills in spades, and, as her modeling has shown, she is capable of adjusting her mood and tone to the setting. It may take some more training to figure out how to put the skills to use as an actor, but I do think the potential does exist for her.

Has anyone seen this video on Youtube of Fabio. He mentioned Jade at 5:59. Posted well before BB started. From the looks of things on that video, he is some sort of an artist..

Yeah, he's a very good artist. I remember Jade telling Tim once that some of his works have been bought for the Vatican.

Hi guys!! So it´s quiet in here today. I saw this comment from Jade in one of her photos. She´s replying to her friend Ricky ( and seems like she´s catching up with her today :o)

Perfect answer. I´ve always thought that when I read all of those people commenting about her grammar. It´s not easy when it´s your second language and you also have dyslexia.

People seriously comment on her spelling and grammar? I had no idea. It's so incredibly rude.
Also, I did not realize that she considers English her second language. Does anyone here know the general timeline of her childhood? For some reason I thought she was mostly raised in Australia, though even in an English speaking country, if Italian was spoken the majority of time at home, English would still be considered her second language.
