Agree.
I wasn't a fan of Ava - to me she added nothing other than being a lump attached to various parts of Josh most of the time - but the backlash against her was huge. My take on why - and I may be wrong - is that her friendship with Estelle probably generated more reaction against her than her relationship with Josh. Combine the Estelle haters and the Josh lovers, and she was history.

Yes it was horrendous. The poor girl was promoted as if there's no tomorrow and then no-one supported her. Of course she was pegged as being boooring straight away. Rubbish.
I enjoyed watching her move, she reminded me of a cat.

FEATURING LIVE VIDEO: Jasmin and Jade grab a quick private moment to talk out their difference of opinion.
Last night, things got blown out of proportion. Both girls maintain that they don’t have a problem with each other but aren’t best buddies either and they’re fine with that.
“I’m happy we're on the same page,” says Jade after their little chat.
“One hundred percent. And I’m glad we did that,” says Jasmin happily.

Ineresting thought. It was a cumulation of the Josh relationship and the Estelle friendship.
I had been hoping that the Estelle-Ava friendship would develop into something deeper... dare I say it, girl-girl affection. The two would have looked nice together - did they ever seriously consider it? If they did, they may have realised that to display to much affection openly they would be digging their own graves.

If Ava and Estelle had gotten together they probably would have been more popular. People love an interesting storyline.

I really respect the way Jade and Jasmin talked it out like that. I do like how Jade isn't the kind of girl who comes off bitchy, although with Tahan she was a bit harsh I thought.. but she does seem protective of her friends.

Ed comes across as an absolute moron at times. I'd have been utterly confused and put off by him when he stumbled through that conversation after their kiss. I'm amazed she has kept up the chase for him. Maybe it's just a challenge to her? Make sure he wants her and then she can back off? I hope so. She could do better than that bumbling fool.

Oh, how I wish someone could convince me of that. I know that people love interesting storylines. But that's where it ends. It's pure inquisitiveness.
The nation would have been shaken to it's core had the girls actually 'acted out' (for lack of a better 'diguise expression') their affections. A Pandora's Box would have been opened - the Murdoch press would have made hay with its Sunday tabloids, Tracy Grimshaw would have been called to do a Sunday special and the AFP... yes, the Fuzz would have been called to '...arrest those abominable lesbians'.
Seriously, isn't this the kind of world we live in?

Haha that would have been so cool though! But I think if the homophobia was that bad, gay people wouldn't even be allowed on BB.

How did you sneak this one past me? It's about four hours later, my drugs are wearing off, my batteries are dying and my head feels like a potato being slowly strangled by a huge bubble gum.
My heart bleeds uncontrollably when I think of 'what could have been'. Estelle and Ava just seemed so suited to each other. The opportunity has passed, my fantasy lives on.

I am sorry to disagree (again?). Call me a pessimist, call me a cynic, but all I've seen in recent years is lip service and hypocrisy by both the politicians and the press. BBfan, it's all about point scoring, ratings, popularity and votes.
Our Ben was admitted not despite his being gay but because he is gay. Last season's Ben was admitted for the same reason and once the producers had gotten a whiff of his popularity, they milked the 'Ben the gay guy' brand for what it was worth and ultimately succeeded in crowning him the champion.
We've had none-whites on BBAU before which is commendable on principle but the producers only included them to maintain a veneer of political correctness. And I don't mind if you call me paranoid either... really, I'm cool with it, but I have to say what I perceive to be the truth.
From now on, we will see a gay, a lesbian, a black, an Asian, a disabled and soon a girl wearing a hijab in every season of BBAU. My apologies for omitting the word 'person' repeatedly. I will not apologise for uttering the truth.
Of course, all the above will only eventuate if BBAU somehow manages to survive.

I do agree with you actually. I'm sure they do try to have a lot of diversity. If they didn't, people would complain that they're racist/homophobic. I think Ben was a special case though because he's so strange.
