Is Big Brother destined for the axe? Apparently not..

I have a better chance of winning the Miss Universe pageant than BB being renewed.

It's gone like The Biggest Loser, too much emphasis on the drama.

This year it's the Cat & Lawson cheating scandal. And the showmance between Travis the simpleton & his simpleton stalker GF Aisha.

Every year it's mainly the same type of HM, young & good looking & most share the same brain cell.
 
As much as I hope it is back next year, I have to admit the signs are not looking great.

The amount of money being thrown at the show reminds me of an end-of-financial-year shopping spree: “Spend up! Our three years is up and we need to clear the funds.”

Money building the fancy Golden-Girls house – tick
$5000 vouchers for each HM – tick
Random HOH cash ‘prizes’ – tick

I dunno…I hope it’s not true, but yeah. Sad face right about now.

You could be right actually, no one really knew what was happening and speculated heavily, I think Sonia announced it at the finale. I too could be imagining this though.
 
Well I'm glad they didn't confirm it.

If they thought the treatment they've given it this year with less content and access than ever before and scheduling all over the place is a good thing, then 9 should not have BB again. Give it back to 10 or end it.
 
Just sticking this in the thread now before I forget...

From @MrPRiSuS after I asked him if he'd heard any other dirt tonight (other than the double and that all HMs would be up this week that a few of us knew well before the spoilers came out)

"Well I had a word with Alex about channel 9 doing BB next year.

Response was "we really don't know, but I do think so"
 
I'm going to be a hard cold bitch and say I hope Big Brother doesn't get renewed next year. :devil:

I can't see the show ever improving on Nine. They had 3 years to do something with the show and all they have done is make it terrible and mindless.

I want Network Ten to pick up the show for 2016. It could do with a year break and surely anything Ten comes up with would be way better than Nine.

I won't be sad to see the show cancelled by Nine. I would be relieved! O_O How sad it has come to this.

Another factor in the decision on whether Nine will pay for another season of Big Brother fell into place today. Seven announced its programming for next year and of significance, is the scheduling of 2 seasons of House Rules just like Nine's The Block plus the introduction of another reality series Restaurant Revolution. So Seven will have enough reality shows to fill 7.30pm every week next year that Nine will have to counter program against.

This is actually not true, Ten were bidding for it back in 2011.

The fact that the show isn't in Nines up-fronts yet means nothing. They don't have the rights for it next year so why would they be advertising the fact that its back? I say give it time and we should hopefully know the "winning bidder" of the rights by the end of the year.

Another thing we need to think of is I can't see Sonia travelling all around with baby in toe to host the series, if she does it will probably be only the eviction show. I can't think of any other Nine stable celebs that could host it either.

I really think (and hope) that the next round of negotiations for the contract have Endemol fuming at how Nine have treated the series and this ends up in Tens favor.
