The Everyday Sexism Project exists to catalogue instances of sexism experienced by women on a day to day basis. It now has more than 20,000 entries and is set to expand globally. They might be serious or minor, outrageously offensive or so niggling and normalised that women don’t even feel able to protest. By sharing stories, sexism is shown to exist on a daily basis and that it is a valid problem to discuss as opposed to being wrongly referred to as 'banter'.

Guy at work used to think it was OK to only ever address me as big boobs. "Morning big boobs" etc. I started addressing him as "small dick" he soon realised that maybe saying "morning Kate" would be a better way to address me.

...I really am surprised that a lot of those glass doors did not break from the weight of the ice... I know that the woman said it did happen in one of the houses but the others... amazingly they held up to the ice... they must have been a thicker glass I imagine... cheers.

The shortest, softest and surest route is to game the system: use it to get subsidies, grants, jobs, tax breaks, bail-outs, welfare, special parking places and other benefits.

But gradually, the cost of supporting all these chisellers and layabouts increases…until the whole system goes broke. Society can no longer afford to continue. As in France before the revolution of 1789, the whole shebang collapses ...


... There have always been corrupt politicians and conniving corporations. Zombies will always be with us. But never before have the zombies been so numerous and profitable. Zombyism pays like never before.

Why? Because there are more opportunities for parasites than ever before. More laws. More loopholes. More little giveaways and privileges…thousands of them snuck into every piece of legislation and every petty rule ...

Really? She's a celebrity with a story that will get (has got) her name in ALL of the papers. Do you really think she wouldn't have spilled it and lost such a golden opportunity?

Why wouldn't she tell it anyway? It's not like breast cancer or it's prevention is a secret or something to be hidden away. Women particularly are well aware of it. If they're not they've been living under a rock for the past few decades.

...from my point of view I don't believe that she would expose that personal drama that is going on in her private life just for the sake of publicity... I believe that she would've done it to make a lot of other women more aware of her ordeal by revealing her operation... I admire her for being (in my eyes) a really strong-minded and brave woman for doing just that...

...in Hollywood image is everything... take her role as Lara Croft - Tomb Raider... her body and ample assets were the things that were used to get males to go into cinemas to see the movie... so obviously she has a lot of male fans for that reason alone... (no matter how shallow that sounds)... I have to imagine that some women in Hollywood would've kept it a secret and would've got implants inserted just to keep the illusion (and their careers) going... that is just my opinion... who knows... it may have already happened in the past in Hollywood...

...Angelina Jolie is worth billions... she's probably the highest paid actress in the world... so just why would she be so eager to share her operation with the world?... for publicity?... seriously wynter do you think she would do it for that reason alone?... I just can't imagine that she would... if she accidentally let out a fart while bending over to tie a shoelace it is beamed around the world within seconds... she doesn't need the publicity... anything she does makes news...

...this morning my dear wife and I were watching 'The Morning Show' on Channel 9 and when the Angelina Jolie news came on my wife and I both said something along the lines of... "Oh the poor woman... good on her for telling the world" type of statements... we both virtually said the same thing word for word... perhaps we're just not quite as cynical as you seem to be about her wynter lol!...

...as I say... I really do believe that she revealed the news with the right intentions... good on her for revealing it to all and sundry... to think that she is so shallow as to do it for another reason seems a bit harsh to me... cheers.

I agree with you too sticky, especially ^^^that bit. I have no idea of the costs involved for everyday women who go through the same thing, but if they do have any out of pocket expenses, I hope Angelina will use some of her mega bucks to help cover that cost, or is she did get payment for her story to donate it to breast cancer research, or even organisations like Look good, feel better.

I've also read a story where a Russian model living in the USA was also a spy for Russia. She was trying to seduce a Whitehouse employee.
