In Defence Of Cat & Lawson

I don't need to know her, I don't need to see inside her mind or heart to know that what he has done is completely wrong, that the humiliation and the disrespect shown to five years of a relationship which also would be based on a friendship there would be painful to go through. There will be pain and there will be anger, maybe using the word forever is slightly overkill, but the person she was once is not going to be the same now. To put this down as only a game of bb and nothing more, you are very wrong! There is a history there that he basically through in her face as if it was nothing. You can sense whatever you want and assume I know nothing for all I care, but from my own personal knowledge of going through my own journey, I know more than you would assume and this is my interpretation from what I see.
That's such an emotional view to have though. You don't even know her and you know nothing about their relationship. But okay if that's your view that's your view. :)

Oh, I am going to be so hated for this thread, but so what?
Sometimes you can't fight true love - maybe this is what Cat & Lawson have found between them?
Who knows for sure that Candice is really the innocent party, how solid to start with was the relationship with Lawson? How do we know that she wasn't the one who caused the initial split before the reconciliation on the eve of Lawson going into lockdown?
I for one think Cat and Lawson are great together, Clawson is about the only interesting thing in Big Brother 2014 - the producers would agree with me.
I totally agree which of course gets me yelled at a lot. But Lawson and Candice broke up a matter of weeks before big brother and then only sort of reconciled before he went into lockdown. It hasn't been confirmed that they re-entered a relationship, just that they reconciled their differences. This kissing ad obviously has taken place after some sort of conversation has happened in the diary room - whether it be Lawson asking big brother to let Candice know it's over or Candice leaving Lawson. I don't think he'd be so stupid as to just kiss her with nothing said.

People do get emotionally invested in tv shows, in the past Big Brother season I too have become emotionally invested in three housemates because in some strange way, even though I was getting a highly edited version of who they were, I felt that I could relate to them.

This year I am emotionally invested in none of the Big Brother house mates because I can't really relate to any of them.

Yeah well you can Blame the extended block episdodes,James bond and Gotham for that. BB is getting screwed over big time lol I think they need to find a new channel.

Cat's twin sister has her say about it in TV WEEK, this week.
According to her, Lawson is the sort of guy that Cat is normally attracted to.

As for Jason, of course he will go and blab to everyone else.
That is Jason's modus operandi in the house, eavesdropping on private conversations, and reporting the goss to Priya or Skye or whoever else he wants to curry favour with.

I blame the housemates more than the scheduling.
I guess but then we have missed so much BB because of it getting pushed aside for lower rated shows/movies. There needs to be like 2 hour specials or something or at least allow extra footage on the jump in.

Will try and find you guys a link.
TV week normally though doesn't put those links up, you have to buy the actual magazine or read it in the supermarket.

Part of me is pissed off with Lawson, because initially I wanted him to win, and I know that he fucked up any chance he had to win.
But the other part of me thinks that maybe there is something between him and Cat? Maybe the 2 of them need to leave the house ASAP, get out of the limelight, and try and work this thing out without the cameras on them 24/7.

Maybe they should have afforded his current partner the same respect. Perhaps she was hoping he would come out of the house and they could work things out properly. You know, because they have been together for several years.

well my opinion is that this isn't affecting anyone in the general public (apart from their families and partners or whatever) so people shouldn't judge and hate someone that isn't directly hurting you.

What? That is a very selfish way to look at things. "If something doesn't directly affect me I shouldn't judge". Do you feel the same way about everything or just BB?
There are plenty of things that go on in society and in the world that don't directly affect me but I care about them and have an opinion on them. In regards to judging, you can't help it. It's human nature. Some people just go overboard.

That's such an emotional view to have though. You don't even know her and you know nothing about their relationship. But okay if that's your view that's your view. :)

We are discussing something related to emotions, though. I don't think sweetgeek's opinion is strange or overly emotional. I think people find it too easy to just dismiss Candice and focus more on Clawson because we aren't seeing her. She's not on our screens sobbing in the diary room or letting us know how she feels. I guarantee most of the people taking an unemotional view of the situation would probably change their minds if Candice was going through all of this in front of us on television.

You are right, though, we don't know anything about their relationship but imo that doesn't matter. We can only judge on what we are seeing and what we are seeing is a guy who is currently in a relationship cheating on his longtime partner with another woman. On tv no less.
Assuming Lawson's relationship with Candice was rocky only serves to trivialise what he is doing, and what's the point of that?

I think at this point the only thing that would make their behaviour defensible is if Candice and Lawson are in an open relationship (which they obvs arent, judging by his reactions) OR if the whole thing is a huge set up by BB.

I don't think there is a defence for the behaviour of Cat and Lawson in the Big Brother house. But for me it sure makes for some interesting television viewing.

This. So much this.

You can defend Cat. She has feelings for him which she can't get rid of. She's never met anyone in Lawsons past and the seclusion from society for so long has her thinking it's okay for her to chase him.

Lawson on the other hand has clearly lost the plot and has just thought "Well it can't get much worse than this" and gone for it.
