Episode I'm A Celebrity! AU (2016) - Episode Discussion

Are myself and @Medusa the only Anthony stans? I think he's great value.
no I like him too :)

last night I got a bit over Laurina's "oh darl" "oh sweetie" to Warnie after his spider meltdown ... I guess that "darling" "sweetie" etc really grate on my last nerve unless coming from an actual loved one ... the casual use just devalues the language ...

I'd like to see Laurina out next ... then I would have gone for Paul to leave - except for that last tucker trial was so hilarious with Paul trying to down that concoction and ending up with more of it all over his face and down his teeshirt than actually swallowing ... and the faces!! was great value ... so I'm not that bothered who wins ... just not Laurina ... yes she's done great with the trials but the others have overcome fears moreso than she has ... and because she's from the reality tv world she knows how to play a game whereas the others have been more genuine for me

Finally got around to watching Shane with the spider(Missed last nights episode). That was a courageous effort and anyone who says otherwise has never experienced confronting a phobia head on. It is different to being scared of something. In a way it is similar but just x1000000.

Enjoyed watching Shane on the show. I thought he was unintentionally funny at times and overall a good sport about the whole thing.

I felt for Shane doing that. I totally agree about being faced with a phobia. I don't think he was putting on that response, that was genuine fear.

I like all the remaining celebrities for different reasons. I think I would be ok with any of them winning. I still hope Paul wins more because I just think he has always been so lovely and can see him using this to spread more goodness out there. Plus he is the only reason the husband watches the show with me haha. Believe me that counts for something

I agree re darl and sweetie. Honey, love, babe, loved ones, all grate on me too. Depends though on who's calling me said name. Darl and honey are no nos irrespective.

Poor Shane saying goodbye to Laurina...WTF? I played for Australia, dated Liz and have 20 cars keys..You run a boutique from a draw, avoid Centrelink and have no eyebrows. Like WTF?

It did sound like well meaning overkill. I said previously that I thought his reaction was 99.99% real. During the challenge yes, but the aftermath maybe a bit less? A debrief is necessary and a delayed reaction may happen but it came across as a bit manufactured after a while.

I really like Anthony. I did from the beginning and still very much so now. I make it no secret that I have enjoyed his narkiness and bitchiness at times, but more so I really enjoyed watching his fun going nature.

I've liked him since his Idol days, but I wouldn't have been surprised if he'd been a bit standoffish or prissy. I know some people do see him like that, but to me he really seems to have embraced the experience, giving his all in the challenges and developing friendships with people outside of his usual social circle (for example sportsmen). Sure, he has a narky side, but most people do, it doesn't mean you're not a good egg.

I honestly don't know what Shane thinks of Laurina. He likes the sporting boys, and Anthony. He liked Havana because she was able to play up to his ego with promises of hooking him up with Carmen Electra. Laurina didn't suck up to him so probably had nothing to offer him, I don't recall any animosity though.

It's true about Laurina though! This week's No Idea says so! Her Ex-BFF spilled his beans! *sarcasim* lol
I'm not a fan of her really but supported her. Reading some of what's coming out now is a tad opportunistic of the bean spillers perhaps?

Maybe not, but it would have hurt his ego saying goodbye to her. I think he might have been playing strategically when he tried to tone down Anthony's behaviour, suggesting it should be Anthony in the final (with Fev and Paul?) Possibly thinking he'd actually be in the final three, big fanbase and all...which I think you pointed out (might not)/didn't correlate...to votes.
