I'm A Celebrity! AU (2016) - Articles

I approve of this. I did think of her (or any of her co stars) when the silver logie clue first came out and reepbot posted a list of past winners.

I am perplexed as to why she would give such direct quotes confirming it though, wouldn't there be a non disclosure thing going on?

I think it's an official interview. The News Ltd articles say she's in lockdown and that the journalist is in South Africa as a guest of Channel 10:

i read the original story and it was down while she was in lockdown and at the bottom it says "The journalist is in South Africa as a guest of Channel Ten covering I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!" which must meant channel 10 wanted her to be interviewed[DOUBLEPOST=1454219580][/DOUBLEPOST]

Ah, ok. Well that's what I get for skimming I guess. Well then this is good and legit!

Still strange that channel 10 are cool with it being revealed now, but I guess it's a promotional thing in itself to get viewers who might not otherwise tune it tonight at the eleventh hour vs revealing it a few weeks ago.

Celebs already at war on I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!

.....Veteran actor Val Lehman and singer Anthony Callea worked together on the Australian touring production of stage musical Grease.....
........“I didn’t like Anthony,” Lehman, 72, said before finding out Callea was one of her campmates.

Callea was a little more diplomatic about Lehman, world famous for playing Bea Smith in iconic TV show, Prisoner, in the late 70s and early 80s.

“Val is very set in her ways and she is an old-school performer and actor,” he said.

“I’ll be very surprised if she’s actually in there but I suppose many people could say that about me, that I’m set in my ways. If she is doing it, she will probably be doing it for the same reasons as me.”..........

I'm so gutted by this, I was hoping Anthony & Val would be this year's Joel & Chrissy!

I have to agree. I really like both Joel and Heather. LOVED them on I'm A Celeb and The Bachelor respectively, but they just don't seem right for this. The article picks up on the point that they both try to play the silly one, when maybe what is needed is one serious one to balance the comic one (as in Chris and Julia).

On the other hand I think the show is dead in the water anyway, as regardless of the hosts, it was a long drawn-out hour of nothing. Once a week would be more than enough.

It works well in the UK version. Even in the first episode they find content - they have a brief chat to the hosts of the main show about their early impressions; they talk to the crew who set up the trials and get a glimpse of what to expect from the trials this year; they show a more detailed preview of the following day's trial; they show interview clips from the hotel filmed before the celebrities went in; they show footage of the celebs landing and settling into the hotel; they have a comedian do a brief skit sending up each campmate; they have a discussion panel made up of random celebrities, often friends of the campmates who talk about how they think they will all cope etc.

The show has potential if they get the format right. Joel and Heather will settle in, but it's the format that really needs work.

Good to see 10 is very much recovering, they have lots of goodies now - and FREAKIN X FILES IS AWESOME.
Scully's hair being a touch too orange.
I have a nostalgic fondness for 10, as tweenies we hung out at the Nunawading studios stalking pop stars.
10 were very sweet as long as we behaved, we even got to sit in the cafeteria where the stars would come for coffee.

This is good for ten, if I'm a celeb continues to get the ratings it did from last year then that's a good start. Then Masterchef will rate well and then the great Australian spelling be. Then of course the bachelor and bacherlotte. And then ending the year with survivor. Looks like a great year for 10.

Shane Warne spills on his I’m A Celeb crush, denies having a ‘no spider’ contract

..........In an exclusive sit down interview before entering the jungle, Warne denied reports he had any special clauses in his contract. Some reports have suggested he had a clause ruling out anything to do with spiders as Warne is a well-known arachnophobia.

“No, from what I saw last year, if you don’t go in with an open mind prepared to do anything then you shouldn’t probably do the show,” he said. “Some of the things were horrific. I’ll give it a go, whatever comes my way. I’m scared of everything. I hate heights, I hate everything. But you don’t know how you are going to react because they obviously try and break you in the first few weeks.”

Warne also addressed rumours he was being paid up to $2 million to do the show.

“I wish. I thought I’d be getting a lot more than I’m getting but anyway, that’s that.”..........

I don't like her flat hair style. But maybe that's for another thread.
