Housemate Hunt 2014

@insider06, i don't think i could watch that, i would be looking away more than i would be looking. the Drully saga is still lurking outside, i don't think they need to use that scenario in a BB season. it must be hard to come up with ideas for the show, but easier to not come up with any, just throw them in and shut the front gate

I honestly dont think Alex would stoop that low...However ive been wrong about him before lol

I hope we don't get a Mister X again :-(

A couple goes in, got to keep it secret, but then a ex goes in.
And try's to break it up,

All of the secret relationships, have failed so badly over the years.
The Logan's, mum and daughter, mister x. Etc
They are far to short, a week isn't really long enough.
And they have they wrong kind of people acting them out

So for the first time EVER, I decided to audition for Big Brother this weekend. What an experience!

Definitely agree with the previous comments... NUMBERS WERE DOWN. Yesterday, I basically walked right in the door, waited less than a minute and I had my stickers/numbers. Waited an hour and a bit, went into round 1 which went 20 mins and got eliminated. There were still a fair few people but the function room was not full and many gaps in chairs.

Housemates there was Tahan, Xavier and Ben (2012).

Round 1 yesterday was basically - hold fingers up between 1-4 and run that number of facts. We did a few continue this story. They did the 1-100% cones and asked our opinions on things like - "Would you hack in to your partners email if you thought they were cheating" as well as "Do you think you are smarter than the average human". Then went around to random people and asked to explain why they were on that percentage. They then split us up into groups and asked us to come up with a name and put on a little show - skit, rap, dance, song, poem, etc. We did that. After that it we sat in a circle and were a few random questions like "What makes you cry, etc". Then they told us to pick someone who they thought should go through. Yesterday, out of the 11 people, 6 chose me. I was chuffed really, but they chose another 4 people to progess and It was a no for me.

Today, went back and auditioned.. Same thing. Walked right in. There were way less people then yesterday. Waited about 25 mins, went into round 1. Progressed to Round 2. Waited for about 40 mins, went in and we were in round 2 for about 30 mins and everyone I went into round 2 with was eliminated.. It shocked me, as there were interesting people in my group. But alas, not to them.

Housemates there were Ed, Drew, Boog and then Sharon and Nathan came in shortly before I was called in to round 1.

Round 1 was almost the same in the sense, we did the fingers between 1-4 and running facts off, we did the continue the story. They did the 1-100% cones, but the questions were different. We split off into groups and had to do team names, and a performance. We sat in a circle and they asked a few questions (different from yesterday) then they told us to wait. Today was more successful, 5 of us were selected for round 2. I was shocked. I had different producers today, and the producers I had yesterday saw me and smiled/waved so they definitely remembered me.

Went into Round 2 room and people were all chatting and getting to know each other. We couldn't say our names. We were playing Charades/Celebrity Heads. There was one girl in front of me that gave me a hard time and part of me wished I went into the round 2 with her as I would have loved to have a debate with her. She didn't make it through though.

I was in Round 2 with the 4 others that were picked from my round 1 group and about five/six others. We just had a group chat basically about random things for about half hour. Again after opening up and telling some of my story and what I was about, I got another vote of support from the fellow candidates who said I should get in. Maybe this was my undoing, I don't know, but alas, none of us made it past round 2.

They are definitely being ruthless this year. I think they know they want. Yesterday I went in there, took it seriously and took the piss out of myself, didn't work. Went in today, took the piss out of myself and opened up and it got me through the next stages.

In saying all this. I feel fine. I'm not bitter about being rejected. I had fun, I know I made an impact on other people and that's what counts. And as the producers say, some HMs had to auditioned over a few years before they were selected. Persistence pays off!

 i was reminded of a show, Temptation Island, such a blur in my memory, but i googled and remembered why

Temptation Island is an American reality television program broadcast on Fox in which several couples agreed to live with a group of singles of the opposite sex, in order to test the strength of their relationships

Well I don't care what they say they want this year, I don't think it's older people, I went to the first Melbourne auditions and made it to round two, I was watching the people before me who got through to round three, a nice little red head who was in my group for round one got through to round two but the whole time I was there not one older person got through to round three, in my group a young girl who wanted to be the token Kiwi got through and a professional actor, whats with the actors, I just watched a clip from 2008 and love them or hate them at least they were normal people, thats what big brother is supposed to be all about

My cousin got through to the final part of the audition round in Melbourne and he said that Australia wide 500 got chosen to get to phase 2...... Does this sound correct or would it be more??

No that sounds correct, I understand that the producers select a top 500 from everyone who made it to round 3 in phase 1.

But they cut it to 150 before phase 2...

Oh.... I will let him know. So they cut it from 500 Australia wide after phase 1. Then only notify 150 for the next phase.... That's pretty cool that he's got that far on his first shot. Thanks guys for the info

I think 500 make it past phase 1 and about 150 get chosen to fly to Sydney for phase 2.. Im not really sure what happens after that..

After phase 1, all the people who made it to round 3 are either a yes, no or maybe to go to phase 2.
They cut it to 150 and have around 5 or 6 different groups spread out over Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. That is phase 2, which goes for a full day, and that is how they decide the housemates.
So I've read....

PPS - I am pretty sure I also saw Erin from Channel 7's last failed series of the mole at the auditions for BB in Melbourne on Sat. She was the 'actual mole' player in that series. I reckon she's got a spot on Big Brother this year, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised.
Wikipedia, The Mole Series 6 or just google Erin from the mole.
