Yeah he seems harmless but he also seemed too amped up and not himself. Tim was natural, this guy aint. He won't go far until he seems real, and if people want that.
 
but don't you think most new HM's on entry into the house have First Night Wobbles ... nerves ... trying to be SuperHM so everyone will immediately love them etc ... if they are not someone already comfortable in their own skin and super-confident they probably are putting on a bit of an act- at the very least being on their best behaviour or trying to show themselves in what they perceive to be the best light (which isn't always what WE think is the best light ... not EVERYONE is into gym junkies or footballers - in fact that in itself can be a "oh god get them outta there already" factor straight off the bat ... likewise if they are too similar to an exHM they would be instantly viewed with suspicion - and I admit to thinking oh god NO for the first couple of minutes with Jake ...

I DON'T like the incestuous feel of the choosing of HM's but then again I think you have to be a certain type even to consider putting yourself out there to go into the BB house ... its not like we are not totally aware that it can make or break you and that it isn't the golden handshake some seem to believe it will be (did ya get that Caleb?) So if its a certain type of person .. and if certain types gravitate towards one another socially ... well its conceivable after so many seasons that there would be acquaintances going into the house - if you're a big fan you probably would try to take any opportunity to talk to an exHM if you saw them at a social event ... (unless you're shopping in Ikea & have a Tim sighting eh littlebear ;)

Tim openly put it out there he was looking for a housemate - if you were such a huge fan of BB that you were dying to enter the house yourself wouldn't that invitation be sooooooooooo tempting - to share a home with someone who's done it ... and WON it ? you'd be nuts not to be thinking it would be a fantastic opportunity ...

I still think though no matter who you're connected with its NOT going to win you Big Brother ... and it could actually be detrimental to Jake - because if he's nominated early the public may vote him out just on the strength of the connection before really giving the guy the chance to show he's a HM in his own right and not simply because he has Meatloaf as a flatmate (oh wait - its not Meatloaf you're worried about him knowing?)

I kind of got the feeling that Alex didn't really like Tim all that much when he referred to him as a 'wannabe type' in that question and answer piece on the front page... I thought that wasn't a very nice thing to say... almost like a stab in the back after he provided so much entertainment last year.

Jake is one of my early favourites, but this may change as the show goes on.
Last year I hated Tim in the beginning but he quickly became a favourite.

In the last few seasons the housemates always seem to have connections with past housemates so I don't really care if he is Tims roommate. If he is shit, then even Tim backing him won't help.
 
I'm getting the same impression from Jake as I did from Tim when they first entered the house, which was that they were overly-self-aware and ANNOYING. I grew to love Tim (against my expectations), so we'll see if the same happens with Jake.

As of right now though, blaahghghg.
 
Who cares if he is Tim's flatmate? As long as he is entertaining to watch, that's all that I care about. Now watching last night, I said to my daughter he reminded me of Tim, not having any idea about any of this.

I don't care if all the HM's know someone who's been on before, as long as they provide good viewing, what does it really matter?

Jake entertaining? ... any scene he was in was just cringe worthy.

The kind of cringe that your face tries as hard as possible to close its own eyes by making your cheeks climb up to your forehead and you pray for skin to suddenly grow over your ears so you didn't have to watch or listen to him.
