Amy's Choice -

I admit to reading spoilers before watching, and I'm glad I did !
An odd episode I thought , and knowing the 'Dream Lord' was actually the Doctor's dark side/alter ego,
made it easier to comprehend.

The elderley aliens were quite intimidating, I thought. But perhaps the green eye stalks were too cheesey ?
***********************************************************************

wiki stuff:
The Doctor says he is 907.
The Doctor mentions again that bow ties are cool. (DW: The Eleventh Hour)
The Dream Lord refers to what happened between the Doctor and Queen Elizabeth I. (DW: The Shakespeare Code, The End of Time, The Beast Below)
The Doctor initially assumes that the TARDIS has jumped a time track. (DW: The Space Museum)
The Dream Lord says "I'm surprised you haven't got a little purple space dog", clearly an oblique reference to K9.
The Doctor tries to jump start the TARDIS by kicking it. (DW: Rise of the Cybermen)
The Dream Lord accuses the Doctor of abandoning his companions in favour of younger friends, echoing remarks by Sarah Jane Smith about the Tenth Doctor and his relationship with Rose Tyler. (DW: School Reunion)
The Dream Lord, once alone with Amy, echoes a conversation Jackie Tyler had with the Ninth Doctor about how 'anything could happen'. (DW: Rose)
After Rory dies in the dream, Amy asks the Doctor "What is the point of you?", similar to how Gwen asks the same to Jack after Rhys dies. (TW: End of Days)
The swimming pool has turned up; the Doctor said that "it'll turn up" in DW: The Eleventh Hour. Leela swam in the pool in the The Invasion of Time.
Amy says "Can we not do the running thing?", which seems to be a running gag in Series Four and Series Five.
The Dream Lord taunts the Doctor, "I bet you're a vegetarian!", in a butcher's shop and then by calling him "veggie", referring to his failed vegetarianism. This originated at the end of The Two Doctors but he has since been seen many times to have lapsed (even ordering steak in Boom Town).

from wiki.

Rose Tyler meets the 11th Doctor

Well Billie Piper does anyway, as her character in "Secret Diary Of a call girl"

Tonight ! - The Hungry Earth

dddddddddd-2.jpg

"The Hungry Earth" is the eighth episode in the fifth series. It was written by Chris Chibnall, best known for his work on the science-fiction series Torchwood.

It is the first episode of a two-part story, the second episode being "Cold Blood", and features the return of the Silurians, a reptilian race last seen in 1984's Warriors of the Deep.

Well my thoughts so far of last nights episode are - Oh Crap! 2 parter! now I have to wait a week to find out what happens! I HATE suspense!! and as soon as I saw the tongue from the reptile creature lash the old guy & then the Dr didn't take much notice & "sonic" it I knew that it would either poison him or turn him into one of them & then what do you know? one of the last scenes is the old guy checking out his wound & he's starting to turn green!! That was the only predictable bit, oh wait, I tell a lie, with 2 mins left or something the kid says he's going home to gets his headphones & I thought, well, he's obviously screwed now. But I must admit there were a few bits that made me jump! Bring on next week!

What about Amy and that guy on the disceting table?

Originally she was supposed to be in her undies.....

Only gripe with that is the guy next to Amy said they discected him while alive...... But when you do that don't you pull all the guts out and not put them back?

Torchwood will be back for a 4th season.

It'll be a 10 part serialised format like children of earth. It'll be mainly set in the USA.

Torchwood will have a fourth series in a joint deal between the BBC and the US Pay TV channel Starz Entertainment.

The 10-episode instalment will see the story incorporate US settings as a natural extension of the series thus far, with John Barrowman and Eve Myles will return in their roles as Captain Jack and Gwen respectively.

The bulk of the series will be in the US, though other global locations could be incorporated.

There will also be new faces introduced, with key US actors. It will continue the serialised format that was successful with “Children of Earth.”

Russell T. Davies said, “It’s very much the next step. It’s not a new version, it’s not a reboot. We’re simply moving countries. The show was previously a format show — monster of the week. The breakthrough was “Children of Earth” and that it became one long story. It’s not going to be Lost and take 20 years to find out what’s going on. It’s going to have a most remarkable conclusion after 10 episodes.

I don't love Doc Who like I used to, why?
I like the new people, but.....................

I'm just not all hyped up and can't wait until sunday - and used to download from UK too; I miss DT and I miss all of his background with Rose, Donna, etc.

I guess I will eventually get invested in the new people, but right now I don't care if I miss an episode - and that would have been a crime in my house during DT's time.

And F..off Gaga

I agree a crossover with Spock meeting the Doctor would be far better...... Well it's been done in fan fiction and comic books

I bear good news.

The Sun newspaper in the UK was the one that halped break the Lady Gaga story has now said they made the whole thing up.

"Breathes sigh of relief" :D

Good - how unusual sun rarely admits to lies, guess DW is not to be messed with.

I would love to see David Bowie guest as an alien.

That could be explained tonight.

Tonight ! - Episode 9- Cold Blood

It is the most important day in the history of Earth: the dawn of a new age of harmony… or the start of its final war.
