Glad I am not the only one to think that.... I guess this is series 5 version of "love & monsters" the crap episode no one wants.

Actually the next episode is the "budget saving" one. But it's a fun episode!

Loved episode 12, the ending is awesome but thank god there's one more, if they left it as they did there'd be a lot of very angry fans lol.

Look...Matt is just NOT SEKSI

OMG I loved that episode, this new incarnation finally has a heart - and that has been missing so much and effecting my viewing pleasure and DW love.
I just loved the Van G episode, allways found him fascinating and sad, and bonus Bill N!

I guess I have a soft spot for artists, art history, and Van Gogh's story is so fascinating, so I loved every minute of this and the reacreation of the works of art.

I like Matt, but I don't think he's ever going to take me the places DT could and did.

I thought the Vincent episode was marvellous.
Doctor Who is so much more than just monsters & explosions - and the episode this season that came closest to just being that (the Dalek one) was actually the weakest.

Well I'm just saying I watched the Van Gogh episode but the ending was the only bit that got me when they took Vincent to the future art gallery... That was full of emotion when he got the tour guide dude to talk about Van Gogh and there he was standing there.... That was a wonderful moment. The rest was meh. IMHO

I think i'm between you two on this one Meglos & Mudcake. I liked it cos it was a bit slower paced & more emotional. It was interesting to view things from Van Gogh's perspective. It sucked me in when the locals were throwing stuff at him. Too sad. But it didn't have that WOW! factor that most episodes have. But i would much rather have my emotions tugged that have the beejebus scared outta me.

Also, anyone else notice a theme going (besides the crack). The starwhale thing was the last of it's kind, the monster in van gogh (can't remember name) was the last of it's kind. The angels were meant to be gone, but then came back & the reptile people (can't remember name) were meant to be gone or dormant & they came back. I wonder if its leading anywhere? you know how the Dr is the last of his kind, but then the timelords came back & went again in those specials last year. Am I making any sense? or am i connecting dots that aren't really there?

Ooo yes well picked up.

This was my favourite of the new doc episodes, and if you only got the point at the very end well you missed out.
What I adored, was all through this, the way the Doc and pal were struggling to control their emotions. That bittersweet sense, and the sense of doom - meeting a legend, looking at his work/engaging in his life and experiences, sharing his pain, and knowing his future..........oh I found it, just sensational.

I love the historical and the literary/arty episodes, high on my list of faves, loved the Shakespeare one. And the cheapy save money ones can be amazing too, that one with the Doc stuck on the airship with the woman echoing the Doc was freaky awesome.

^^ Oh yes! kxk!! I was re-thinking some more emotional episodes that kinda stayed with me & I immediately thought of that airship one with the chick echoing the Dr. That was creepy!

Yeah, that's the kind of stuff that freaks me, hidden, mysterious stuff - that freaky library with River was another.
The monsters, well they are meant for the kids, they only really interest me when they are things like the space whale or the OOd and they have sad stories, or if they are funny and weird.

I really like the new doctor and the new season. I like Amy Pond, but still can't decide if I fancy her or not.

I haven't watched the second last episode of the season, waiting to have the final two before. I already don't want it to end.

Oh yes Mudcake I love that fireplace one, so sad, and that was DT's real-life girlfriend, I really like her she was great in Tristan and Isolde.

DT also went out with the girl that played Jenny in "the Doctor's daughter"

But more important did you see "the crack is real" I'm scared LOL

Tonight - 'The Lodger'.

This episode sounds interesting;

A mysterious force locks the TARDIS - with Amy inside it - trapped in a materialization loop, and it's up to the Doctor to work out what that force is, or Amy could be lost forever. As he investigates, he learns of a house on Aickman road, with a staircase which people walk up but never down. To solve this mystery, the Doctor must pass himself off as a normal human being and share a flat with Craig Owens.
