If Doctor Who was to end on the 50th Anniversary how would you end the show?

As per the title how would you end the longest running scifi TV series?

I had this idea and it may sound a whole bunch corny and daft but I thought it was really cool.

The Doctor realises by the end of the episode that he's in fact a fictitious character.. I think Matt Smith could pull this off brilliantly. And he realises that he's in fact part of some kind of entertainment / software / whatever.... That would just to me be unique..

Onto the rest of you.

How would you end the series?

And I think his name is actually "Silence" but to explain would take too long, there's a couple of theories on the web.

My goodness. I recognised William Shatner and Scott Bakula straight away but didn't immediately recognise the other three. How could I not recognise Captain Picard? Kate Mulgrew looks really different too.

Go here, he has all these funny clips of him trying to get home all wet.

Here he is in the pageant, he is one of the first bits so you may miss him if you didn't see the very beginning of the whole thing

I saw a long interview with him after the event and he mentioned that the bells had made him temporarilly deaf.

RIP Caroline John.

I've never seen any of the old episodes with her in them. Can you still get the old episodes on dvd or anywhere?

Yes, ABC Shop and JB Hi Fi have a good range of DVD's.

3 excellent Jon Pertwee stories on DVD with Liz Shaw in them are Spearhead From Space, The Silurians and Inferno.

She was excellent because she was a departure from the screaming young girls of the sixties, she played an intelligent scientist who just happened to be attractive as well.

Ok, thanks Mud and Meglos. I'll keep my eye out for them. I haven't seen any of the old episodes before Christopher Eccleston. I read somewhere that a lot of them were destroyed so I had no clue what was still available and what wasn't.
