If Canada took in the good parts of the US then Canadian law would apply and you could fix the gun problem at least.

Seriously though I do think it would be better if the US split into the civilised half and the south as separate nations.

I really don’t see it working. There’d have to be a pretty long transition period so I think they’d be better off just being independent.

Both the left and the right are cautiously supporting this review, desperately hoping their worldview will be amplified/confirmed by their experts.

- The left see a federal review as a win to confirm the evidence base of gender affirming care by practitioners hence keep rogue redneck states in line.

- The right see a federal review as a win to give detransitioners a voice hence encourage a more cautious "watchful waiting" approach to trans care.

For one we wouldn’t “annex” them, they would have to want to join us and while people like you like to focus on a handful of bad spokes people there’s nothing inherently evil or even bad about the values us “woke” or on the “left” people hold. Just like I don’t think someone being a conservative necessarily makes them a bad person. I know a few. You unfortunately aren’t one 🖕🏻.

I fail to understand why being woke is in any way wrong.


The term "woke" originally emerged from African American Vernacular English (AAVE) and referred to a heightened awareness of social injustices, particularly those related to race and systemic inequality.   4. Critical of Traditional Norms: They may challenge established societal norms and practices that perpetuate inequality or discrimination.
Path to Being "Woke"

That is a really useful definition of woke! my parents have asked me at the dinner table but I didn't really know how to describe it.

The government here have used the word in a buzzword derogatory way - (ie kids would no longer be served woke foods with for lunch) which has lead to the media treating them with the respect they deserve and creating lists of woke foods
