Only when you're former Labour and the current govt is National. This was a political hatchet job.

ETA: Oh it was all Winnie. Still politically motivated though.

🙄 he’s more than just a “popular rando”. The man lead Canada out of the 2008 finacial crisis (which was the fastest of any G7 country) and was appointed by a Conservative PM to do so and led the UK through Brexit as the first non-Britain to head The Bank of England.

No politician is perfect… As a public servant with not a lot of seniority I fear his promised cuts to the public service but at the end of the day he’s the one I believe can lead Canada through at least the next four years of Trump and will at least on some level accomplish his goal strengthening Canada’s economic standing on the world stage. His opposition has been in parliament since 2004 and has zero legislation to his name and has really only risen to prominence as the Maple MAGA spokesman.

I’m also someone who believes the outgoing PM wasn’t as bad as he’s made out to be so WTF do I know?

He was great. I guess some PMs (and for that matter governments) get a bit on the nose after a while.
 
I’m really hoping this Hail Mary change in leadership works 🤞🏻… I know I’ve said this before but a lot of Canadian heritage, pride, and patriotism comes from the fact that we’re NOT Americans in every sense of the word so I’m hopeful but in 2025 who the fuck knows 😳💁🏼‍♂️
