Do we have a politics thread to discuss things political?

I’m actually thinking Harris can win this thing.
I think there’s definitely a good chance but I’m not 100% confident due to the Electoral Collage.

If the election were based strictly on popular vote (which Trump has never won) it would be a completely different story.

On the other side she is building momentum and a lot of the polls have her closing the gap. Maybe it’s the fact that I live in a bit of a political bubble but I just don’t see Trump doing anything except playing to his base. He also doesn’t seem to have the same kind of ammo he can use against her like he had with Joe or Hillary.

Trump is even more pro-Israel. Don’t forget he moved the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Trump at worst would be no better on this issue. You fundamentally can't be more pro-Israel than funding and arming them to commit genocide. Shielding them and destroying the international justice system to hold countries accountable for committing war crimes. How much more pro-Israel could they be?

It's vote disqualifying. There must be consequences.

So when Kamala wins in November and everything continues. The conflict expands if it hasn't by then. I simply don't buy the excuse, "Trump would have been worse." When he's not the one that did it.

Now there are plenty of reasons to not vote for or want a Trump victory, but on this issue, it's simply disqualifying of the current administration. I mean come on, think for a minute. Supporting what is going on in Gaza, which is genocide and ethnic cleansing. Is worse than moving an embassy. Come on, I know you hate Trump, I understand that. I'm not a fan, but come on.

This is an issue in which you’re asking someone to choose between a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich. I’m sorry but Turd Sandwich FTW.

Came across this song being used on TikTok as an anthem for woman voting “blue” for the first time. It kind of boggles my mind how entrenched this song and its lyrics are in the political climate of its time and yet how relevant its overall message is to current events.

WTF? It’s like he’s not even trying anymore. At this point it looks like he’s 100% banking more false claims of election fraud and that his SCOTUS friends have his back this time.

Also while the VP nominee is typically irrelevant a particularly bad choice can drag down a campaign. I didn’t follow politics that closely but I’d say Sarah Palin really didn’t help John McCain. If the memes are anything to go off of JD is just as much of a joke.

I'd been waiting for him to say a bunch of racist shit about Kamala, it was only a matter of time. It may help rally black people to get out and vote for Kamala, especially in places like Georgia, which the Dems need to hold on to.

I think this hit the nail right on its head. The movement behind Harris is definitely highly motivated to defeat Trump but even in this extremely short period of time since Biden dropped out it’s really become about so much more.

Said it before and I’m going to say it again, Trumps only strategy is to doubt down and these days the only people that strategy works with are his base.
