Episode DAY 50: Live Eviction # 6 (95m)

Ed isn't needed though.

Unless he finally gives in to Jade's advances...

Or shows more of his confronting side, as he showed towards Tully in the show tonight. He has possibility. Otherwise, yep, he can go next week (or probably the following week - as he has superpower.)

so Matthew calls Tully & Drew out in his goodbye message and Ed's response is to say "Can I say ... Awkward"

Wtf Ed - Matt said exactly what you have sat there and agreed with him about ... and you sit there and call it Awkward?

Guess you're not going to rock the boat now until after nominations tomorrow night ... not going to man up and drop your bombshell ...

at least Matt stood up and said his piece - whether anyone agrees with it or not - at least he had the guts and the conviction to do so.

All kudos to him for doing it.

Even tho he agrees 100% with what Matt said, it would still be awkward to be sitting there while it's said in front of EVERYONE.

say nothing in that case - by saying Awkward isn't he in some way making out that it was inappropriate? or shouldn't have been said?

Yep - Ed did confront Tully finally... did Matt ever have the so called guts to do it whilst still in the house? Nah he just bitched about it behind their backs. What a man of guts and conviction.

Wowsers!!!! I'm so shocked with the end result. I actually was a little teary that Matt left. Is it me or did it seem Sonia was a little harder in him then she was on other hm's like Heidi for example? I. So glad he got a standing ovation.

Wtf! Who was voting for ed? Ridiculous!

Ben was awesome on tonight's show. I have a renewed respect or him after his reaction to Tims prank. I loved how he kept popping into drully arguments. That was a comic classic! My stomach is still in pain from all that laughing. I think Ben will do well with this task. He has the crazies to pull it off. I take back what I thought of Ben initially, after tonight's show, I definitely think he has a more to offer and show for. Bb should show more of it.

Ben gets to watch the housemates tomorrow and also gets to give them orders (through Big Brother). He won't be present when the others nominate and so will be immune from nominations. I'm guessing he still gets to nominate though...

He wont get to nominate, most of the housemates can do addition and the nomination points won't add up, there will be 5 more points than there should be.

He did have the guts, he spoke to her about it the other day.

And this may come as a surprise, Tully cried when she was telling Drew about it.

What the hell was with Ed's "If I go I'm dropping a massive bomb on the house" line? He did seem to be genuinely worked up about Tully trusting Drew so it might have been something to do with him. The whole Drew being a double agent thing is hardly a bomb though.

Or he might have just been too drunk to know what he was saying.

Can anyone explain why a ninja put headphones on Ben when he sat down in the Presidential Suite to listen to/speak with Sonia, and was also asked to speak quietly.

Then when BB took over from Sonia, his voice was boomed over the loud speaker in the PS.

Didn't make much sence to me.

Great post buddy, and I had actually considered basically all of this throughout the season, I guess I have just come to the point where I thought I might be giving him too much credit. So as the days have gone by, for me, I have become more and more convinced this is just Ben.

Oh on the flight attendant thing, I take your point about the training, but about the actual job, his deficiencies might be the exact reason why he isn't in that field any longer. Perhaps he didn't have what it took and was fired?!? Do we know how long he actually was a flight attendant? Also I guess there would be large discrepancies between airlines. I'm sure QANTAS has different standards to some of the budget airlines (prior to them all being bought out BY QANTAS lol haha)

This bleach aint goin' anywhere near that train wreck(ing ball...) :P

hahaha you made me snort!

I said earlier, my guess was that by that time the rest of the house were locked inside the main house where they couldn't hear. While he was speaking to Sonia they would have all been in the backyard. BB probably called them to the lounge to watch farewell vids.

...
With this in mind, I'm starting to observe a lot of similarities between him and how Tim "played the game" back in 2005. Obviously it's a completely different circumstance and it's something that was obviously totally unknown back in '05, but Tim did an AMAZING job at what he did. I see reflections of this in (this year's) Tim's way of playing Big Brother too. Since (BB05's) Tim revealed his game playing "tactics", I've realised that, in all honesty, it's not that hard to put this gameplay into effect if you really wanted to achieve it. Read more about it here: http://www.acma.gov.au/webwr/_assets/main/lib101055/179brunerot.pdf

In tonight's episode when Ben "interrupted" Tully and Drew twice, all I kept thinking of was what Tim mentions in that above article about trying to get "involved in at least some of the sub-plots the producers use to keep the whole thing running". Combine that with a few one-liners and you've got yourself further affection by the general public alongside the whole persona he's got going on.

...as the days go on, I am starting to become more and more convinced that Ben is not all he seems - and I will stand by that, whether I'm alone on this theory or not. Just my analysis. Just my opinion.

There's definitely another side to Ben... there's more to it than he lets on (even if the excecution isn't actually all that smooth... the self talk etc. I can see he's trying, but it's almost like it's too hard sometimes).

But the other person I think is playing according to the link you've posted is Ed (again, not to say he's successful - just that I think that's what he's trying to do). I read those first few paras and to me that sounds exactly like what Ed is doing - the first few weeks strategy. Except that he forgot to also inject his own personality (for want of a better word) - his own angle. I wonder if he thinks the "Mr Perfect" thing *is* his angle outside the house, and that we're all lapping it up.

Forgive me if I'm repeating something that's been said earlier... reading backwards and taking hours to catch up, lol. 71 pages people, thanks for the entertainment!

He did have the guts, he spoke to her about it the other day.

I must have missed this. I thought he spoke about her negativity, not so much her relationship with Drew.
