Exactly. Whatever happened in her last relationship and even during her school years seems to have done quite a number on her. I think females are always fed this bullshit from the media and society in general that if you're pretty (and if you're not, buy some creams/tits/botox to at least try to be) life is peachy and you'll be happy. Just like if you won the lotto or were born wealthy. And often females (including myself) buy into that and turn on or at least make assumptions about girls like this because of it. The most beautiful and confident girls I've worked with (in film) barely wear makeup or do more than throw their hair up into a bun most of the time because they know their worth goes well beyond what they see in the mirror. The ones who suffer from low self-esteem though need to have their appearance validated because they think without their looks they're nothing. It's bloody sad when you think about it.

May I just point out that she said 'back in the day' not 'and back in a day' ....meaning, when she was younger it would take 36 hours to get to Italy.

On another note, Jade does seem desperate for Ed, but her convo with him and lying in his bed was partially Mikkayla's doing - she gave her hope.

i think mikk is stirring the pot a bit with Jade, but Ed is the one who is sending the mixed messages. I actually think he likes Jade but doesn't want to be in a relationship on the show.

There may be some things she likes, there may be some things she likes about others too though we may not hear that as much. But I would be surprised if she wasn't aware of the game. Ben has been given some special treatment, and maybe it seems to them the sisters have as well. So you will get some HMs gravitating towards that. Some in the house are brave and have pointed out annoying things about both Ben and the sisters, even if BB suggests to them perhaps they shouldn't if they are popular (and by implication Big Brother likes them as well).
 
Ed singing 'woof woof woof' to Mr Clooney was the most eloquent he's been the whole time on the show..

Yes, this also. He does like her but doesn't want a relationship in there. His mixed messages are starting to annoy me - he kept kissing her after the dare had ended and then was laying in his bed with their legs tangled....

Why does Jade get all the crap for this?

I think she did initially, but now most people can see that the way Ed is leading her on one minute and putting her in the freezer the next, isn't very "gentlemanly".

Mikkayla nominated Ben 1 point for being immature and then showed him how to cook which I think shows a huge amount of maturity from Mikkayla. Can you imagine anyone else in the house doing that? This is why I like Mikkayla so much. She points out relevant reasons to nominate someone but she won't turn her back on them if they try to change for the better. This was a big step for both Ben and Mykkayla. To me stuff like this makes other events in the house seem so petty and insignificant. Likewise Mikkayla's talk to Jade was sincere and valuable to Jade, even if it was pointlessly wasted on ED.
 
I don't dislike Mikkayla really, but I think she knows how to get HLs time. I don't think Ben or Jade are changing for anyone, they know they are getting airtime. And I've no doubt there could be others in the house who aren't featured who are honest to people as well. Of course the Bitter Sisters won't take any criticism, they have to be considered perfect otherwise they are on the warpath.
 
random thoughts

- jade getting an extended profile on confidential was nice. i actually feel like i understand her better.

- tully has been every bit as bad with drew as jade has been with ed. but only one of them is called a whore and a flirt - and that's the one who's actually single and available for a relationship

- tully being afraid to leave tells me everything i need to know about the nature of her relationship, and her feelings in the house. and obviously drew knew what she was talking about

- mikayla is great value. from quickly getting over tully's bullshit "strategic-wise" selection of her, to being inspired by tim to stir with jade, to giggling herself into fits whilst being electromocutalated. even her calling out the food situation wasn't bossy - it was an FYI for everyone to watch out for themselves. although, the boys are such meatheads, if I was her, I'd let them starve and go crawling to big brother hat in hand.

- the girls sitting around talking about how respectful matt is of women is hilarious considering how disrespectful, condescending and misogynistic he's been in the diary room and with the other boys. be sure and refer back to that every time you think "the HMs know better than us what everyone is like". No, they really don't - they only know what they show each other. We get to know what they think no one else can see.

- tahan got the disappearing edit. i'm thinking she could be in trouble this week

- mostly i'm irritated that channel 9 cannot keep to a programming schedule. seriously, they were like 30 minutes over. I'm having to record hours of programming each night just in case. buncha dickwads.

I'm thinking the exact opposite. Ben is quite a vulnerable person, and Tim was getting stuck into Ben because he is such an easy target. It was patronising and it was designed to make Ben feel bad about himself. I feel sorry for Ben, and it makes me dislike Tim even more.
